    Description

//I get lots of messages on here, I’ll do my best to get back to you//

My outdoor adventure property is situated on 150 acres of riverfront land in Muskoka, Ontario. There is over 2km of private riverfront, and two waterfalls. The property is accessed by a short paddle from town. I guide adventure tours at the land, and produce maple syrup. However, my main business is excavating & landscaping for cottages on nearby lakes. Pay is $17/hr. Will pay $20-25/hr for experienced skilled trades. 15-30 hours per week, 6 days a week.

We often venture into town for the gym, to play sports, get groceries etc. Guests should have experience in the outdoors, have appropriate attire etc.

This summer workaway adventure, when I plan to host about 2-3 workawayers out at a time, will take place from approximately July 26th until August 23rd (ball park dates). You will be staying in a canvas tent (possibly with other guests- will keep girls/guys separate), some guests may get a private cabin. There are outhouses but no full washrooms. One of the first projects is finishing an outdoor shower than was mostly built last year. We will also finish our maple sugar shack building, and other light carpentry projects. We will also occasionally work off site at cottage properties doing landscaping work such as planting, mulching, installing river rock, property maintenance, cleaning etc.

Living off grid in the Canadian Forest. Your host is a paddler, maple syrup producer, builder, and lumberjack, so learning a lot about the rural country life in the forests of Central Ontario.

Would be a good experience for two friends, a couple, or solo travellers. I will try to have 2-5 backpackers out at a time for the 2025 spring/summer/fall seasons.

    What else ...

Our small town is 350 people. We have a brewery, small town pub, restaurants, cafe, general store etc. About 15 minutes away there two other towns of 15,000 people for more shopping/outings etc. Muskoka is known for cottaging, camps, tourism and beautiful nature. A big part of this stay is about living on the land for most of your visit. Runs to town for food will be arranged every few days if you don’t have a vehicle. Best for outdoor adventurers!
