Description
Hi,
We are Mika and Mario.
We live in central Portugal in a small village with a great view over the mountains.
We have a number of tasks we want done such as repairing a terrace, refurbishing the bathroom, making a canopy over our terrace and renovating a workshop for the motorbikes, and of course a lot of work to be done on our land growing vegitables.
Mario is Portuguese and his family all live around here.
And like a good tradition, a Portuguese family needs lots of good food and drink to get through the working day!
Furthermore, we have 3 cats. They are super sweet and give a homely atmosphere.
Also good to know:
Mario is a motorbike mechanic and Mika is an artist.
In our spare time, we ride motorbikes as much and as often as possible. We then ride both onroad and offroad.
The mountains here are amazing and traffic is almost non-existent. Walhala for motorcyclists, then ;-)
Anyway. We are living our dream here. Unfortunately, we have too much work to do which we cannot manage alone. So through this way, we hope to share our dream with people who would like to help us.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are members of a folk dance group here in the village and also members of the motorbike club.
There are many festivals in the area especially in the summer months.
Dancing, music, food and drinks.....every weekend there is something to experience and do.
We always like to take our guests, friends, family there.
We also enjoy the surroundings a lot. Hiking, cycling, fishing....oja and Mario is a master at BBQ.
In short, the simple Portuguese life in the countryside. That's what we love and love to shareProjects involving children

Help
We could use help with:
* repair terrace
* cultivate land and grow vegetables / strimming weeds
* refurbishing an old house
* Harvesting grapes and olives (in September and October)
We do all these tasks ourselves, so you will then assist us in doing so.
And it would be great, though, if you already have more experience with tasks like remodelling/construction workLanguages

We have 2 guest rooms with a shared shower in a separate house at our place where we live.
At the time we don't have guests.
The B&B will not be part of your work.
If you come by camper, there is a place near our house where we also grow our vegetables. You could park your camper there.
Food: we will cook and eat together. Breakfast, lunch and diner. Al that is extra is for your own cost.
Place to sleep is also included. What else ...
We don't work on Sundays. Then we are often out riding our motorbikes ourselves (or sometimes Mika is at a local art market).
You could go out with us then. Motorbike riding yourself is also possible, we have several motorbikes.
There are several cities in the area where you can soak up culture.
We are 30 minutes from Tomar, 40 minutes from Coimbra and 40 minutes from Pombal.
Portugal's highest mountain is a 2-hour drive from us and the beach is less than 1 hour away.
Public transport is a bit trickier. There are some buses. But not many.
Taxis don't cost that much and are quite manageable.
We also have a couple of mountain bikes and an electric bike. You can borrow those.A little more information
