Description
We are living on a 60 acre vineyard with a large wine making facility, cellar door and restaurant ( closed now) on the property. We sometimes require help to maintain some of our vineyards and garden work and August and September is pruning and working in the vineyard, there is a lot to do so we are looking for a couple for these months.
Your room has a king size bed with electric blanket, heater, large TV, bathroom and laundry, and is outside the house but close by so you have privacy if you wish. We like to share some of the cooking with our Workaway but can do all the cooking if you are not comfortable in the kitchen. We are installing a kitchen into our Workaway studio and then you can also cook some meals by yourselves.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are both well travelled Australian businessmen who are now retired with our focus being travel, garden, culture, art, politics and dogs. We usually find we can have interesting conversations with travellers sharing knowledge and experience of each country and the culture. We have many kangaroos on the property and a small social life. We travel to Sydney and the Sunshine Coast regularly.
Help
Depending on the time of year (July to October) there is sometimes vineyard maintenance work. We are installing a small kitchen in the Workaway studio so you can also cook on your own. Other times of the year, household chores such as cooking, cleaning, gardening and taking our dogs Bertram (8yrs) and Miss ellen (3yrs) for walks, or dog sitting while we are away for the day, or overnight. Please don’t pretend to be a dog lover if you’re not as they are part of the family! We will adapt the jobs to your skills and interests as there is always plenty to do. We have bikes and happy to be tourist guides for Canberra.

Accommodation
We have a bedroom at the rear of our garage which has its own bathroom, laundry, a king bed and will soon have its own kitchen. It is next door to the house. For August, September and October we prefer couples as we have a lot of work in the vineyard. The room has many books including many about Australia. Food can be shared in the house and can also be cooked by yourself when you would like to eat on your own. We can cater to dietary requirements such as vegan or vegetarian.
What else ...
We are fifteen minutes from the Canberra Airport, fifteen minutes from Bungendore (there is a train station there if coming bby train) and Queanbeyan, and 30 minutes from the centre of Canberra and all it has to offer. We are happy to drop helpers off in Canberra for the day and pick you up.
