We had a great time with Judith and Baptiste. They worked very well, asked questions when they weren't sure, of course being native french speakers english wasn't their first language but we had no problems understanding each other and their positive attitude was great. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for workaway work.

We absolutely loved our stay with Ben, Ronel and their sweet family. The work was both inside and outside depending on the weather. We loved that we more or less could distribute our working hours throughout the week.

I had a very nice time at Ben and his family during my short, but sweet, 3-day-long stay. While travelling the North Island, I was looking for a last-minute Workaway opportunity, and Ben was flexible and willing to house me until new volunteers were scheduled to arrive. The family was lovely, the children were interested, friendly and
… read more well-mannered, and I enjoyed spending time with everyone whether that was watching live basketball, a movie at home, or cooking together (the last morning I made some crepes).
Most of the work I got to do was outdoors - in the garden and on the wider property. These were straightforward jobs, but as someone who has grown up in the city, some of them were entirely new to me. Ben was patient and helpful, and I learned a lot on the go - one of my favourite things was driving the 6x6 mini farm truck, which I was a bit hesitant about at first, but I quickly got the hang of it. I also got to do hedge trimming, rose de-heading, as well as some clearing up and tidying around the property. It's safe to say that I came away from this Workaway with increased self-confidence. Benjamin and Ronel opened the door of their house to me for 2 weeks. I was very well received and immediately felt comfortable and integrated into their family.
I was able to do some work outside but also around the house. The work is not difficult, Ben is really chill about working time and explains really well.

Ronel the mother and incredibly kind and funny, all the meals were really good. And its carbonara paste recipe is excellent. Always there to check if we are missing anything.
The moments spent with the parents and our discussions were interesting and open.
Plus we never have time to be bored because they are three wonderful children Isaac, who is an intelligent, curious boy and who learn piano. Yulisa their second child, always happy to introduce me to new things, particularly music and books. I really enjoyed the time spent with her, especially the drawing (she is a perfect master of cat drawings). She really likes to talk so ideal for those who want to learn English. Finally the youngest Ella, a wonderful little 6 year old girl who will soon be 7 years old. Always up for playing or learning new things. She also masters playing pool extremely well.
Their 3 children are really warm, kind and welcoming. I enjoyed all the moments spent with them thank you to the children.
Thank you very much again to the team for these two weeks. I miss you already and I hope to see you again soon!!

No complaints, easy to give instructions to, asked questions when necessary and was just generally a really pleasant person to have around and a great addition to our crew while he was with us. We wish him all the best in his future travels and we have a feeling we may meet again some day :)

Mayeul & Coco were our first workawayers post COVID and they once again reaffirmed why we love opening our home and our family to international visitors. The plan was for them to stay 1 week and that eventually turned into 2 so that should already say a lot about our experience with them! They are kind, caring people who we had some lovely
… read more evenings with around the table, having discussions about family, travels and just getting to know them. They worked hard, and with a bit of guidance did all that was asked of them around the property - trimming hedges, cutting trees, stacking wood, re-arraning the pantry and doing gardening. They were amazing with the kids, often spending time with them on their evenings off, playing table tennis and board games which the kids loved.
Overall just really nice people to have around and to share their company. We'd very happily host them again if the opportunity arose and would have no hesitation at all in recommending them to other workaway hosts. We wish them all the best in their travels

The kids are all amazing and unique, and we already miss Isaac, Yulisa and Ella a lot. We wish we could have spend much more time with them all.
The accommodation is perfect, a lot of space with its own bathroom/toilet. All the privacy and freedom that you could need.
Working was really nice too, with various tasks and good challenges, always with trust and freedom again ; we were managing our own days, depending on what needs to be done first, and our own schedule. Some day were just 2 hours a day, and some were 7 hours a day, we just had to choose what's the more convenient for us.
