    Description

Ecocommunity project at the magical cenote ixchel.

Our vision is to create a tribal horizontal holistic community that can become a model of sustainability through our way of building, our relationships, between us and with the environment.
At the heart of our location is a very large beautiful cenote...

We are only looking for people with lots of energy, enthusiasm and initiative to help us with the maintenance and development of our community.

We are open for people who have special skills to receive a full time volunteer and that will include veg food and accommodation.
Alternatively we can host collaborators who will be required to work at least 3 hours a day, and will be expected to contribute their share of the food expenses.

We receive daily a lot of requests and sometimes take time to respond, remember we prefer people with specific skills and preferably longer commitments.

Those who have the opportunity to pass through our space will probably have a very special memorable experience, our multicultural family is very warm, sharing, fun and a bit crazy.

Most people just stay here most of the time, we have managed to create a wonderful magnetic experience that those here forget about the world outside.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have around 5hq, so we have a lot of space, there is spaces with grass and sand around the cenote in case you have your own tent or hammock, we also have some glamping tents, as well as other spaces that may be available depending on the season and timing. We prefer longer stays, minimum two weeks. if you are just a passerby please do not apply.
Meals will be served monday through friday, and those wanting to stay and eat during the weekend we expect help with the cooking and cleaning of the meals.

We ask that those intending to come can be very conscious about their waste, to try to avoid plastic as much as possible, as well as not bring coca-cola or other multinational products.
Meals are vegan and vegetarian and we ask not to bring or cook any non vegetarian products.
    and...No alcohol please.
Please try to bring your own sleeping bag or sheets, blankets. Having a tent could be a plus. As we sometimes dont have space for people in our communal spaces. Though at this point most volunteers will recieve a private space.
Soap, toothpaste, shampoo you bring needs to be biodegradable. And the containers need to be recyclable or taken with you when it’s empty.
Arrivals are usually on monday morning and departure on friday evening or saturday morning.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our wonderful cenote is our main attraction, you can take a brake to go for a dip, snorkel or scuba dive. The area is quiet and pretty private though its also quite conveniently located. Its relatively easy to take a ride to town or take a bike there. We are surrounded by a luscious jungle and there are many paths and roads to other cenotes just a walk away.
The town is 8km away, where you can find pretty much anything you need from a town.
There are also ruins and many other activities that tulum offers.
Though honestly most people just stay here most of the time, we have managed to create a wonderful magnetic experience that most people ignore the world outside.
