Description
Hi there!
We live in a beautiful, open-air forest area of Girona, near the beaches of the Costa Brava, where I often swim.
Since we're older, we'd appreciate a volunteer helping us with the garden and around the house.
I usually cook for everyone, although I welcome cooking enthusiasts. I also load the dishes and wash clothes, and I usually do the housework alone. If I needed help, I'd ask if you'd be happy to help me, but despite my age handicap, I'm proud to do it.
I don't like people who drink a lot or use hard drugs
I usually prefer to welcome volunteers with comments or references.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

As I'm a senior citizen, I'd appreciate it if a volunteer could help me with gardening, DIY, driving me to the beach, and help me finish some projects I always have, such as painting, sawing, nailing, etc.

I offer my volunteers:
- I treat the workaway as another member of the family
- A single room with a work desk
- Bed, food, linens, and shower
- 24/7 Ethernet connection
- Go swimming at the beaches of the Costa Brava
Public transportation information: Plane arrival at GRO Airport
TRAIN and long- and medium-distance buses to Girona station, from where buses depart to Bonmati, a bus stop 2.7 km from the house, where I can also pick you up.
I can lend a bicycle to get around the area.
Restrictions for my guests:
No drugs, weapons, or alcohol are allowed.

I stayed with Luisa and Juan for two weeks on short notice. I really enjoyed my time there and they were both warm and welcoming. I helped mainly with work on the cabin and garden and anything else that needed doing. This was my first workaway experience and loved it! it was great to experience a rural part of catalunya and also nearby cities girona and barcelona. Charlie was coming home to help me for 10 days. He first was lost in Barcelona but at the end we meet each other.
He stays home helping some days to prune my trees, with another volunteer who cuts the grass, but the most he enjoyed was Girona city.

I stayed with Luisa for almost two weeks and I found my time there to be most enjoyable. The work on the grass and in the cabin was very rewarding and the atmosphere around the house was warm and relaxed.

Wow! Seamus is a very highly recomended volunteers. I've never known a person so exceptional! Seamus has a great willingness to help, no matter how hard the work. And it does so as if it were so easy and fun ... He pruned my trees, cut a wild grass that was as long as himself, he fixed walls and shelves of the log cabin, where has done wonders!… read more
