  Beschreibung

  We are a community for adults with special needs (mental disabilities), their co-workers and international volunteers. Our aim is to strive for living and working together to create an atmosphere of equality and mutual respect based on anthroposophical pedagogical principles. This is done in harmony with the surrounding nature. The domain has an organic farm, providing dairy products and vegetables, as well as a community workshop house where handicrafts including carpets, candles and herbal teas are made.
  
  Everyone is involved in the village activities (household work, garden and wood work, stable work, handicraft workshops,village meetings, cultural activities, etc.), resulting in a shared feeling of appreciation and interconnections.
  We try to be self sustaining, producing our own food, firewood and other household tools.

  Was ist das?

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  Estonian culture is very lively in our village and supplemented by anthroposophic elements.
  If you are interested in learning Estonian language, there is no better place to do so! Co-Workers and volunteers also speak English and other languages, while you have to get by with Estonain with our villagers.
  Here, you can also try Estonian food and outdoor culture.
  You might notice very soon that living at the countryside, being surrounded by nature, is wonderful! Also you get the opportunity to engage with adults with special needs. Since they are already very used to this way of living, they need little care in everyday tasks, but rather people around who keep this structure and who like to work and live together.

  Arbeit

  Life at our domain (we call it 'village' and the people with special needs 'villagers') is characterized by seasonal work. In spring and summer a lot of time is spent outside, planting, harvesting and processing fruits, vegetables and hay. In autumn and winter time is spent chopping firewood and creating candles and carpets in the workshop house. The farm and milk kitchen run throughout the whole year.
  
  We can always use an extra pair of hands, as well as social company and new impulses. If you have decided to join us, we will decide together what fits your interests and skills. At the same time we encourage trying out new things and stepping out of the comfort zone. We have had many volunteers over the years and are used to explain how things work around here.
  
  Tasks could be:
  
  seasonally
  - preparing beds, spread compost, seeding
  - weeding
  - picking fruits & processing them into jams
  - processing vegetables (pickling, cutting & freezing)
  - chopping firewood and stacking it into the sheds
  - helping to keep the village area appealing (e. g. cutting grass)
  all year round
  - organizing leisure activities in the evening (games, arts, music...)
  - cooking lunch for the people working on the field (about 10-15 people)
  - eventually some building project, if there is need, interest and skills

  Unterkunft

  We can host you in a private room in one of our community houses. You share kitchen and bathroom with co-workers, villagers and volunteers. We offer three meals a day, there is wifi in all of the houses.

  There are several places on the domain where you could camp your van. Possibility to connect with electricity. In the houses there are kitchen and bathroom facilities.

  Animals are welcome and can even find shelter in our stables. Dogs might however need to be on leach or in a dog park because some members might fear dogs.
