Beschreibung
We are the only official PADI Dive Center in Port Barton, a peaceful beach village on the west coast of Palawan, Philippines.
Our project is all about sharing the beauty of the underwater world while promoting safe, eco-responsible diving. We operate small groups, focus on personal attention, and dive every day in some of the most untouched coral reefs of the region.
Our team is international and passionate. We work with certified professionals, maintain our gear to high standards, and love what we do. Besides diving, we also organize snorkeling trips, help protect the reefs, and are slowly building our center to become more sustainable and community-based.
We are now opening the door to Workawayers who can bring good vibes, energy, and skills — whether you’re a divemaster/instructor, content creator, multilingual communicator, or just eager to lend a hand and be part of island life.
We currently have 4 LOCAL STAFF MEMBERS:
2 Boat crew and drivers
1 Compressor operator / maintenance
1 Shop assistant and booking desk
In addition, the owner and lead instructor (myself) is on site full time.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

🌏 Cultural Exchange at Our Dive Center
Our dive center is based in the peaceful coastal village of Port Barton, Palawan, where you’ll experience a genuine Filipino lifestyle surrounded by nature. You’ll work alongside our local dive team, learn about Philippine marine biodiversity, and connect with the community of island boatmen, fishermen, and guides.
We welcome Workawayers from around the world and love to exchange stories, skills, and languages. In return, we’re happy to teach you about diving, local customs, and island life, including how to cook basic Filipino meals, prepare fresh fish, and maybe even join a village celebration!Arbeit
We ask for help about 4–5 HOURS PER DAY, 5 DAYS PER WEEK, with 2 FULL DAYS OFF for exploration and personal time.
We’re mainly looking for certified dive professionals — Divemasters or Instructors — who can:
• Guide certified divers on fun dives
• Teach courses (if you’re a PADI Instructor)
• Conduct Discover Scuba Diving experiences (DSD)
• Assist with equipment setup and maintenance
• Help with filling dive cylinders and checking logbooks
• Support us with the daily operations of the dive shop
• Occasionally give a hand in small DIY or build-out projects at the center (if you’re handy!)
If you’re experienced in diving and also enjoy helping with customer service, organization, or even boat prep, you’ll love working with us.
We’re a small, friendly team, so flexibility and a good team spirit are essential. In return, you’ll gain real experience in a professional dive center and enjoy incredible dive sites in a peaceful, uncrowded paradise.
🛏️ Accommodation & Meals:
We offer basic accommodation on-site at the dive shop. It’s simple but comfortable — perfect for ocean lovers who don’t mind living close to nature and the sea.
🍽️ We provide:
• Breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• Drinking water and coffee throughout the day
🍺 Not included:
• Alcoholic beverages
• Imported or special dietary items (you’re welcome to buy those yourself locally)
🏗️ If you’re handy or enjoy small construction tasks, you’re welcome to help us improve and extend the living spaces — your skills would be greatly appreciated!Sprachen

🌐 Language Exchange Opportunities Our dive center operates mainly in English, French, and Tagalog, creating a multilingual environment where team members and guests naturally share and learn languages every day. You’ll also meet many of our Spanish- and German-speaking visitors, giving you the chance to practice or improve these languages while working or socializing. Whether you’re a beginner or fluent speaker, it’s a great place to exchange cultural and language skills in a relaxed, international atmosphere.Unterkunft
🛏️ Accommodation
We offer basic but clean rooms on the first floor of our dive center, just a short walk from the sea. Rooms are equipped with electric fans, which are usually sufficient thanks to our natural ventilation — our location between the rainforest and the sea keeps temperatures comfortable at night.
You’ll have access to a shared bathroom (shower and comfort room) and a communal kitchen with fridge and freezer.
We provide high-speed Starlink internet with Wi-Fi access throughout the building, so you can stay connected even in this remote and peaceful environment — perfect for digital nomads or just staying in touch with family and friends.
At the moment, we are in the middle of RESTRUCTURING THE DIVE SHOP BUILDING to add additional guest rooms, showers and toilets for future staff and workawayers. This construction is ongoing right now, so unfortunately I can’t provide accurate photos yet. We will update them as soon as these rooms are finished. Was noch ...
✅ Other Relevant Information for Workawayers
We want to clarify that FOR CERTIFIED DIVEMASTERS OR INSTRUCTORS (PADI) THERE IS NO FEE at all – you join as volunteers helping with guiding and dive operations in exchange for accommodation, local staff training support, and diving opportunities.
For divers who are not yet professionals but hold at least a PADI ADVANCED OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION, there IS AN OPTION to TRAIN WITH US TOWARDS DIVEMASTER CERTIFICATION. In these cases, the Workawayer would need to pay only the PADI FEES AND CERTIFICATION COSTS directly (as these are fixed and required by PADI International).
The practical training and internship in the dive centre are provided IN EXCHANGE FOR VOLUNTEER WORK with us, typically over A MINIMUM COMMITMENT OF 6 MONTHS (details to be discussed case by case).
• 📅 Minimum stay: We prefer a minimum commitment of 5-8 weeks, so we can properly train and integrate you into the team.
• 🧽 Work schedule: Usually 6 days a week, about 4–7 hours per day, depending on diving activity and weather.
• 🐠 Dive opportunities: You may join fun dives or training dives when not working, depending on availability and safety conditions.
• 🛠️ Additional help: We appreciate help with DIY or construction work, cleaning gear, and assisting our dive instructors.
• 🌱 Eco-friendly mindset: We value sustainability! We avoid single-use plastics and participate in reef and beach clean-ups.
• 👕 Dress code: Casual, but respectful — no shoes needed in the shop, bring sun protection and reef-safe sunscreen.
• 📵 Remote location: Our place is quiet and off the beaten path. Bring anything essential before arriving (pharmacy items, snacks, etc.).
• 🚌 Getting here: We are located in Port Barton, Palawan. Accessible by van from Puerto Princesa or El Nido.
• 📖 Training discount: If you’re not yet a certified diver, we can offer a special discount on training courses. You’ll only pay for your certification and required materials.Etwas mehr Information
