I had an incredible stay at this little hobby farm. Johann and Arndis are super nice I couldn’t think of a better hostfamily. It was my second workaway experience and I loved every second of it. I was working with their amazing horses every day and even with two young ones. That was my only work except of one day when Johann showed me how to drive
… read more his old tractor and I helped him to build parts of the horse stable for the winter he is a really patient and good teacher. That was one of the highlights of my stay. A few times we went with the trailer to the horse club near by the farm and trained some horses there in the ring I loved this change a lot. The riding opportunities for the short everyday training could be better but it is still easy and amazing to ride to the beach and when you can ride a little longer or with two horses there are great riding path around the farm.
Johann knows a lot about horses and how he wants them to be trained. He could help me with everything around them and gave me many advices and a different way to look at problems with them. I will be another rider when I come back to my Icelandic horse at home.
Arndis and Johann gave me the cultural experience I was looking for. I saw and learned many things about Iceland I tried food, saw how much we could do on our own at home, went to a roundup…
I had a private bedroom with morning sun in their lovely and cosy house I felt like home all the 6 weeks I was there.

… read more animals and the guests for a few days, while the were in Reykjavik.
I felt welcome from the first second, enjoyed nice meals and good talks and also had enough time to explore the beautiful north of Iceland on my days off.

I can’t imagine a better workaway experience than I had in Steinunn‘s and Jóhann‘s family! I stayed for nearly three weeks and basically helped Jóhann training the horses.
