A little brief about who we are -
Nestled on the northwestern tip of Lake Toba, the largest crater lake in the world, Resort spans over 206 hectares of stunning agro-eco landscape in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Positioned at 1500 meters above sea level, our resort offers a unique tropical highland climate, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility and a deep connection with nature, as well as an immersive experience in local Batak culture.
Here (ask us for our website ), we pride ourselves on fostering a vibrant community of guests from around the globe, creating rich cultural exchange opportunities. Our visitors come to enjoy not only the comforts of a resort but also unforgettable experiences that highlight the beauty of nature, cultural engagement, and physical activities.
We are excited to announce our ongoing project to transform one of our accommodation zones into a dedicated wellness space through Sanctuary (ask us for the website) . In addition to this, we operate an organic farm that includes our own vegetable, coffee, and tea estates, while also collaborating with local farmers to supply organic produce to nearby supermarkets and within our resort.
Through our volunteer program, we aim to enhance the service delivery and cultural awareness of our local staff by welcoming a diverse pool of international volunteers. Your contributions will not only help us raise our service standards but also provide you with a unique opportunity to share your skills and learn from our rich cultural environment.

For international volunteers, particularly those of you who are passionate about nature, culture and life in general, you can look forward to exciting life experiences mingling with our international visitors as well as local staff and villagers.
You will be mesmerized by the beauty of surroundings, the warmth of our people. At the same time, you may be exasperated and/ or amused by the perceived lack of efficiencies and productivities due to more laid back attitude and slower pace of life here.
Arbeit
Due to our location n access constraints, only volunteers who can commit for 1 month or more will be considered. Those who can stay for longer period (we are open to offering small local rate allowance for long stayers) and able to teach English to our staff will be given priority. Below are a some details of the roles we are looking for:
🌟 Yoga Teacher Volunteer
This role requires someone qualified to lead daily yoga and meditation classes while ensuring all logistical needs for wellness activities are met. Your expertise in sound healing will enhance our offerings, creating a peaceful and restorative experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct engaging yoga and meditation sessions.
* Coordinate logistics and provide support for wellness programs/ retreats, ensuring smooth operations.
* Offer sound healing sessions
🌱 Landscape Volunteer
In this role, you will help to maintain the pristine landscape around our sanctuary, particularly the nature trails. While overseeing our small edible garden, your focus will be on preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and beautify nature trails and the sanctuary landscape.
* Care for the edible garden within the wellness zone.
* Share knowledge about the landscape with our local groundskeeper as well as visitors.
📱 Social Media & Marketing Volunteer
As our Social Media & Marketing Volunteer, you will help us share our story and connect with a broader audience. Your creativity will play a vital role in promoting our wellness programs and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create engaging content for our social media platforms.
* Develop marketing strategies to promote our offerings.
* Capture and edit photos and videos of daily activities and events.

Our location is quite remote (but we can arrange for you to get on our twice weekly staff transport from Medan City) and we do not have regular schedule of transport to the nearby towns/ places of interest.
Be prepared to stay secluded at the resort during your free time but we shall try our best to arrange time off of a stretch of a few days for you. During this time off, you may want to visit places like Berastagi, Kaban Jahe, jetty shore Tigaras. Nearby tourist attractions include Sipiso Piso Waterfall, Samosir Island, Berastagi town. There are also interesting local villages like fishing village in Tongging or agricultural based villages in Kaban Jahe. Volcano enthusiasts may catch active Sinabung or trek up dormant Mt Sibayak.
Mingle more with our staff and you can pick up essential Bahasa Indonesia. Befriend our staff who will be your guide to help you explore nearby places of interests.
