  Beschreibung

  We a local NGO based in Deniyaya close to the World heritage -Singharaja rain forest in Southern Sri Lanka with the 2000 members engaged in farming and 80% of them are women. We work with International and National Donors to
  
  upgrade the lifestyle of this community under the thematic area of Gender Equality, Climate Change ,Sustainable Livelihood, Environmental conservation and Cultural Development .
  We consists of 5 staff members and 10 volunteers with English Language ability and operating in well-equipped office.
  Also, our operational area consists of rural Sinhala community and plantation area with Tamil community with various cultural and traditional rituals and foods and dress habits.
  We provide comfortable food and lodging facilities for the visitors who arrive to get new experience and lesson learnt exchange with farming community.
  Our staff gained in fullest cooperation for them arranging field visits and stay with member families engaged in local hospitality and customs.
  The Whole our operational area is beautiful natural misty mountain area with marvelous water falls, wild animals, birds, paddy fields and tea plantations, Also a lot of edible forest products are available in this area .
  Our staff is engaged in providing secure facilities and proper guiding to the visitors engaged in the assignment in rural farming system and farmers innovates activities

  The visitors can participate the religious and cultural activities held at Buddhist Temples, Christian Churches and Hindu Kovils in this areas with the guidance of our staff.
  Most of the our members dwell in the village basis and our staff facilitate to participate for them and the visitors can learn a lot of oriental cultural initiatives inclusive Indian typed dances and traditional devil dances and rituals
  Also the visitors can learn traditional herbal medicine process that help to prevent from evils
  Also the visitors can learn Sinhala and Tamil Languages while staying with these families. and taste traditional food stuffs

  Arbeit

  Most of the visitors have opportunity to work with women farmers at their home gardens to share experience and knowledge at Mushroom cultivation, Bee-keeping, Dairy farming, Cottage industries , value added food processing and local food preparation sustaining nutrition.
  Our members in the plantation sector is Indian originated Tamils with sub cultural customs and they are making Indian typed foods and the visitors have opportunity to learn and taste such foods and to watch Hindu religious cultural festival held at Hindu Kovils in this area. Also the visitors can enjoyed much with traditional Devil dance and religious festivals held in the rural areas
  The visitors can spend in the leisure time with teaching English language to the small kids in this area under the guidance of our staff members.
  At the weekends the visitors can hike mountains ,watching waterfalls, bathing at rivers and streams and crossing the rain forest and the slippery rocks at Patana close to Deniyaya town.
  Also the visitors can enter in the tea plucking and watch tea processing in the tea factories and taste the genuine black tea.
  The visitors can teach this disadvantaged women on how to improve their talents and resilient by playing small games and we arrange women group meeting to share the experience and creativity.

  Unterkunft

  We provide accommodation facilities with English understanding families and provide separate secure rooms with independent living room and veranda facing to the river and beautiful paddy field. The single room consists of sufficient furniture and attached bath room .
  The visitor can spend hassle -free life there with Sri Lankan type foods- rice and curry ,breads ,hoppers ,string hoppers, banana, fruit juice and tea and milk tea.

  The visitors can teach English Language and learn Sinhala and Tamil Languages at the free times and learn how prepare local foods. Also they can visit surrounding area and southern costal belt
  We provide transport facilities at the field works by three wheelers and the visitors can hire tuk-tuk at lowest cost as there are a lot of tuk-tuk hiring places in this area.
  Also there are sufficient food shops and banks as Deniyaya is a tourist destination .
  The general public is very familiar with foreigners as a lot of tourist hotels and tourists cross this area annually.
