Join our bicultural family in the Alps and help with childcare and at home in Sauze d’Oulx, Italy

  Beschreibung

  We are an English-Aussie family living in Sauze d’Oulx, the Italian Alps! I manage 30 holiday rentals and my husband is a carpenter. We have two kids and two dogs.. both kids will be at ‘school’ from September but with slightly conflicting hours and by no means full time!
  
  We are looking for someone or a couple to come and help us out with our busy lives... we would like someone who loves the outdoors, kids, dogs, is super pro active, has lots of common sense and most of all are fun and adventurous!
  
  Sauze d’Oulx is a ski resort in the Via Lattea, Milky Way area. In the winter you can ski and the rest of the year hike, bike until your heart is content. It is really well connected by the train from nearby Oulx to Turin, Lyon and Paris. We are surrounded by France and you can drive there in 20 minutes! You can be on the Ligurian cost or French Riviera in 2.5 hours… the nearest international airport is an hour away in Turin. There is a lovely community in the village with only 600ish full time residents. In the winter during the peak season the population can swell to over 10,000!
  
  We have just completed our 9th winter season here. We just love it. The kids are very busy and very sociable. They are used to being around new people. They speak English and Italian. The eldest is 6 year old girl and youngest a 3 year old boy. Both love biking, skiing and snowboarding!
  
  Our Workaways would be required to help with some odd jobs / carpentry in exchange for their own apartment and food.
  
  We might also require house/ pet sitting if we go away during the low season!
  
  My husband and I were keen travellers and super seasonaires before we settled in Sauze d’Oulx and would love to be a part of your adventures!!

  We hope that the workawayers will get involved with our family - we are blended essentially from different cultures living in a country that neither of us are from. We love Italy! We love the food, the wine, the landscape!! It’s incredible. We are so lucky to live here.
  
  There is a real sense of community in the village and the social hour is around 18.00 when we tend to meet friends for aperitivi!
  
  We hope that hosting people from different cultures will bring new experiences to our home! What we miss from the days when we travelled the world!

  Arbeit

  We would need help with school pick ups and some light domestic tasks during the week so that we can both work… it would be a few hours a day in the afternoons, Monday to Friday.
  
  During the winter we would probably shift the hours to cover the weekend instead and do a shorter but more intense help with cleaning.

  Unterkunft

  The accommodation we offer is a large studio apartment with separate bathroom. It’s a short walk from our house. With food we can give you a shopping budget for the week so you can cook at home or you can eat with us in our home whenever you are here (we’d love if you wanted to share your culinary skills/ traditional meals with us!)

  Was noch ...

  In your free time you can hike, bike (ski in the winter) there are amazing trails. There are beautiful towns and hamlets to visit nearby. France is on your doorstep and Turin an hour away. The coast is a two hours and a half away. The train connections are really good and you can visit all of Italy easily…
