  I am an Australia & Japan based individual, travelling often for music related business. I run a record store in Australia. I also do a lot of Timber cabinetry & renovation building work and have a lodge in the Madarao/Tangram area of Nagano Japan. Its beautiful here all year round with each season offering an array of different things to do.. The food is amazing, the onsen's are beautiful & the nature is superb. Its an incredible and peaceful place to live.

  Theres an opportunity to gain some skills learning about Japanese plastering and other timber work based on your skill set and uptake. I'm working with Japanese carpenters and again you will be able to get some hands on involvement working with a small team on a wide variety of building projects such as rendering, timberwork, furniture restoration and so on. Of course theres also the possibility to engage in numerous activities in the area including fishing on the massive lake nearby, cycling, bushwalking, onsens & the list goes on. Nagani city is close by and the Zenkoji Temple and Tokugashi Shrines are both must visits. I will be cruising about and enjoying good restaurants & local produce and you are welcome to accompany me on trips.

  Arbeit

  I need some help this summer doing basic renovation work around the lodge such as sanding, painting, cleaning & gardening. Its work that a man or woman should easily be able to do and i'm happy to have couples, though I realistically need only 1-2 people maximum.
  I've had the house here about 6 years now but never opened as a business as such, but im working towards opening the lodge this year & could use a little help here and there.
  Theres plenty of beautiful rooms in the house to live in and the accomodation is free with pay of 1200 yen per hour also offered. Theres a great big kitchen, loungeroom and the opportunity to join me in the evenings and off days visiting sites around the area. If you could come for 1-3 weeks somewhere during the months of late June though to mid August that would be ideal.

  Unterkunft

  You'll have a private room with ensuite bathroom which can accomodate a couple or single person. Super comfortable we are surrounded by large Japanese cedars & its a very quiet place.

  The local station is iiyama, and easily accessible by shinkansen about 2 hours from Tokyo. I can pick you up at the station and drive to my house about 20 mins away. You're welcome to join me on trips around the area & theres also buses available down to iiyama and other spots. The area offers many sights including Lake Nojiri, Furumi Shrine, The Madarao Jazz festival coming up in July, and theres plenty to do, including lake fishing - i have a boat.. mountain biking, Onsen trips, Amazing local fruit and vegetables.. The list is endless.
