Markus and Angelina have been very kind hosts. It really shows how much Markus cares about his dogs! They live in good conditions and are the sweetest dogs I've met. Always wagging their tails, ready to cuddle or play. I have been lucky enough to have been here during a time where there was one older (5m) pup and a bunch of tiny pups you can see

The chickens are very nice too, I made friends with Michael the Cockerel and could even pet him.
Even though there's no wifi, you can easily get yourself an esim or use a hotspot of the host, the reception is very good. They are eager for you to be happy here and will get you the food you like or drive you to the train station so you can explore the area!
Overall the hosts are very nice and the dogs are the best floofs in town. Thank you for having me!
Markus was a gracious host. Friendly; patient; took me into town whenever I needed.
The dogs were wonderful. The work was simple: feed, walk, clean. Especially the dog named Ubbe was a great companion.
The time with the dogs was a great gift for me, it was all about the dogs!
I had my first workaway experience with Markus. I spent 5 weeks with Markus and Angelina. They are both very friendly and helpful people. I always felt welcome here. I enjoyed my time with Markus and it was a very nice and interesting time for me. I didn't have much
… read more experience with dogs before. But Markus explained everything to me very well and clearly. After just a few days, I was able to look after the dogs myself and took care of them all day long. Markus really likes his dogs and only wants the best for them. Some of them are rescued dogs that have suffered a lot in their lives from humans. The dogs are all very lovely animals. With a few treats you can find a place in their hearts very easily. My daily goal was to make the dogs' lives a little better every day.
There is a certain daily routine that you should stick to. But there is still enough free time for you personally every day. Even though I spent almost every free moment of my 5 weeks with the dogs and enjoyed farm life to the full. Markus is at work during the week and sometimes he can be away for several days. So you are responsible for making sure the dogs are well. That's why Markus must be able to rely on you.
A daily routine looks something like this: At 6:45 the dogs are fed for the first time. So you can't sleep for long and should have no problem getting up relatively early. After feeding, the boxes are cleaned for the first time. This includes collecting the dog's excrement with a shovel. Given the number of dogs, there is a lot of excrement every day. Afterwards, you are free to organize your time until the evening. However, it is best to collect the droppings throughout the day so that the dogs always have a clean place to live. You should also make sure that the dogs have enough water to drink throughout the day. The dogs should be taken to a large fenced-in area at least twice a day so that they can run and play. But they are also happy if you let them run there more than twice a day. When the dogs are in this fenced-in area, you have to make sure that they don't escape. I spent a lot of time playing with the dogs, stroking them and building up a bond to all of them. That was a great gift for me. The second feeding takes place at 17:45. After that, the dogs are taken care of and you can have a free evening. You also have time to take breaks during the day. The property includes a lake that you can walk to. During the day you can also look after the chickens. There is always enough to do. You can live out a life as a farmer here. I really enjoyed being outside almost all day, spending time with the animals or doing a bit of manual work. If I saw something that needed doing (repairing the fence, clearing out the barn, filling the dog boxes with new straw) I talked to Markus about my plans and was then able to let off steam freely, Markus is happy if you recognize what needs to be done yourself, you shouldn't wait for Markus to tell you everything.
It is important to mention that you should only come here if you are prepared to take responsibility. It should be clear to you personally that there is a lot of work to do every day with this number of dogs. You are responsible for ensuring that the dogs are well and this is the most important thing for Markus.
At the weekends, you have time to explore the surrounding area or do whatever you want. There is a shop about 40 minutes away on foot as well as the train station. But Markus always asks if you need anything from the shop and then brings it to you. He also takes you to the train station and picks you up if he has time.
Last but not least what I really enjoyed was being able to enjoy Angelina's excellent cooking skills.Feedback

Me and my partner Ellie visited Markus and his girlfriend Angelina over a one month period, and would have happily stayed longer if we didn't have commitments back home (we also plan to come back and are keeping in contact). During this time we got to know each other well. Angelina is a very lovely woman who is very open hearted and whose views on
… read more the world are very wholesome. Markus is a great guy and adores his dogs, they are his babies. Therefore I would definitely say this, please only go if you honestly love dogs and can understand the work it takes to care for them as the responsibility and quality of their care depends on you so don't be lazy as it's not all just cuddling doggies!!
You will get your weekend to do what you like but mostly during the week you look after the dogs.
Markus can be gone for up to 10 hours, and during those hours your responsibilities include:
- Feeding the dogs in the morning then evening (6:45am, 6pm)
- Feeding the dogs in the evening (6pm)
- Collection of dog poo after they have digested each meal ( typically 30 mins after feeding )
- Collection of dog poo throughout the day ( to avoid other dogs eating each others poo giving them worms )
- Making sure the water is filled throughout the day (they tend to spill them)
- Letting the dogs out twice a day (only if you're confident enough to handle the dogs as they're escape artists!)
- Of course socialising with and cuddling the dogs throughout the day as it really makes them happy.
- Constantly being aware of the dogs and where you place any items (anything can happen as they can find ways to break things)
There is a lovely lake nearby with a bench and integrated BBQ which makes for lovely little fires in your spare time. The nearest shop is about a 30 mins walk away or a 5 min drive (Markus would happily take you when possible) in the town of Perstorp.
This was my first experience with Workaway and I couldn't have chosen a better one. Perfect spot if you really wanna do period of detox from the stress of the city and connect with the nature. The landscapes are stunning.
Markus is a really nice person, not always at home due to his job but he certainly makes sure you feel at home with everything
… read more you need. The dogs are amazing, you will never feel alone with them. You need to be able to wake up pretty early to feed them but since there's no wifi you have no choice to go to bed early in the night.
If you have no problems getting dirty, waking up early and needing constant internet connection this place is perfect.
Thank you Markus for the opportunity, I'll make sure to come visit you again.

Staying with Markus was my first Workaway experience. I was warmly welcomed and have always felt at home. Markus was always open, courteous and answered every question I had. The dogs are super sweet, playful and you don't have to be afraid of them. Alma needs a lot of attention, but if you spend some time with her, you know how to deal with her.
… read more I always had to be flexible due to Markus's working hours, but had the opportunity to explore the area and go on day trips on my days off. The accommodation was very cozy and I had everything I needed. I am very grateful for the experience with the dogs.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

We stayed with Markus for three weeks while dog-sitting his four beloved furry friends.
Markus was very easy-going and flexible. He was always available to answer any questions and was very helpful in showing us the task.
I had plenty of free time to explore the surrounding area, Vara, Lidköping and Götenburg (mostly by train). Markus drove us
