After a year of travelling around Europe and fist experiencing Workaway I spent most of my time largely volunteering in animal sanctuaries and shelters but also exploring new cities, music festivals and different cultures. I enjoyed this experience so much that I have continued travelling and volunteering back home in Australia, this time with my partner and dog in our campervan.

I'll be travelling with my girlfriend (see connected workaway profile) and dog, Chedz, who is easy-going and very used to different people and animals (reference available). We have loads of experience working with animals, particularly in vegan settings, but are open to other opportunities too.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have a double degree in political and international relations/international business.

Before travelling I was a manager of a pizza restaurant back home and am confident in the kitchen. I have experience cooking up tasty vegan food for large groups. In between Workaway stays my partner and I are travelling all around Australia and are seeing the sights as well as working the odd jobs around the place.

As well as my workaway experiences, I previously worked on a farm back in Australia with a big mix of animals - cows, horses, pigs, goats, chickens etc. I'm very capable and comfortable around all animals, I love them to bits. I also used to volunteer for a dog rescue in my free time and have one rescue dog of my own, so I'm very confident around dogs, both big and small.

During my year in Europe I spent many months volunteering at different animal-focused workaways. This included a dog boarding kennel in Croatia, as well as different sanctuaries looking after pigs, sheep, donkeys, horses etc. The sanctuary in Ireland where I spent 5 months has 150+ animals. My time there involved around the clock care of critically ill and newly born animals, as well as helping with rosters and daily chores to suit a rotating team of up to 20 people.

Generally I'm laid back and easy to be around, I've worked at places with just a couple of volunteers as well as much larger groups, so I can adapt easily and pick things up quickly. Always keen to learn new skills and try new things.
