Hi. David here. I'm an English guy who has lived in Ireland for over 30 years. Now retired, I love to travel and meet new people, discover new places and new dishes, and learn new things.
I'm pretty fit and active and in the past year have walked the Portuguese Camino from Porto to Santiago.
Besides walking/hiking, my other interests include cinema, reading, and sport on tv. I would tend to seek out art galleries and local/natural history museums when visiting bigger towns.
I'm happy to tackle gardening and simple DIY tasks and to do some cooking. I'm also happy to learn...just tell me what you need me to do and point me in the right direction.
My preference is for housesitting and my experience so far of Workaway has been overwhelminly positive. My first engagement was with a lovely Austrian family who made me feel like one of the family. I have been lucky to have invited back twice since that first time. I have also done two pet sitting placements through TrustedHousesitters (with cats both times).

I like word games like Wordle and Scrabble, but any board game or card game I'm happy to play or learn. Interests would include cinema, reading, museums, climate change, geology, evolution.
