I'm interested in meeting new people and helping in whatever ways are needed: childcare (extensive experience), gardening, off-grid projects, animal care, photography (extensive experience), etc.
Beschreibung
I've been Workawaying for over a year now and I am thrilled with this way of life. I love to meet people and be part of a community doing meaningful work together. I've had great experiences with my hosts and other Workawayers. Most of my Workaway companions are the same ages as my children, but that hasn't been an issue in the least. I have young friends from all over the world now, and I consider myself SO lucky to continue to meet all these beautiful young people. They give me hope for the future. Thus far, I haven't had any trouble keeping up with them - maybe because most Workaway tasks tend toward yard work, and yard work is my happy place. I could pull brambles all day with a smile on my face.
As a professional photographer, I also usually end up helping my hosts with photographic needs. I don't carry my professional gear with me, but my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra does a great job. (I'm happy to share examples.) I'm not the best improvisational cook, but I'm learning! Give me a recipe and all the ingredients, though, and I'm good to go. I make up for my lack of confidence as a cook by being an EXCEPTIONAL clean-up person. :) I enjoy washing dishes, so I never have to be asked to help; I'm already there. I'm handy with power tools (built a large chicken run and chicken coop on my own), and as a homeowner with little money, I regularly do my own home repairs. I'm also a quick learner and open to any task.

Many years ago I worked with the Refugee Resettlement program and helped with English tutoring. I've also worked as a tutor for school-aged students in the US. I do NOT have extensive experience with teaching English as a second language, but I am eager to help and am a patient and creative teacher. UPDATE: I'm currently enrolled in an online course to receive my TEFL certification.

Hello! I've been a full-time nanny for babies and young children since 2018. I also have two grown children and was a stay-at-home mom with them. I'm a professional photographer and can help with any personal or social media photographic needs. I've been a homeowner since 1999 and can do just about anything from painting to basic home repair. I love gardening and doing yard work of all sorts. I'm handy with basic power tools and used a miter saw and impact drill to build a 19'x14' chicken run (covered in 19-gauge hardwire cloth) in my back yard. I can make a few soups without a recipe and just about anything else if I have a recipe. I'm also happy to clean, do dishes and any household task. I'm an efficient proofreader and am happy to help with proofreading anything in English. I'm quick to learn and eager to help in whatever ways are needed.

I love reading, writing, and talking about the nature of consciousness and all manner of interesting philosophical topics. I'm very interested in meditating, breathwork and spirituality (not religious). I love playing games and am mediocre at chess. My strong desire is to do some good in the world and be loving and accepting to everyone. I also love staying with off-grid communities. It just feels right to be in harmony with nature as much as possible. (Of course, we are part of nature, so it feels like a returning to self.)
