Kia ora! We’re Gemma and Nathan, a couple from Aotearoa, New Zealand. We’ve been lucky to explore the world, both together and on our own and some of the most memorable times have been at homestays, meeting and connecting with locals, exchanging ideas and stories. We have our working holiday visa for Canada and are excited to start this new adventure!
We’re both hardworking, physically fit and keen to try and our hand at new things! For this journey in Canada we're hoping to expand our knowledge in gardening, permaculture, sustainable building practices and meet other open-minded people like ourselves who are practicing a more sustainable and self-suffiicent life. We've both had our time living in cities and are currently making efforts to create our own oasis, closer to nature and more connected to our local community.
We are passionate about enhancing both internal and external spaces, from design and layout to building and photography, creating immersive thoughtful experiences through food, accommodation, fostering community and culture.

He now spends a good amount of his time in the pottery studio developing his craft in ceramics. He is always eager to listen, learn new skills, gain knowledge, and is open to other people’s ways of life.
Nathan’s past experience is in graphic design and arts, before transitioning to co-developing a boutique campground. There, he gained a wide range of hands-on and people skills, working on building projects such as small buildings, decks, landscaping, renovations, and minor plumbing work. He also managed staff, booking systems, ran the onsite café, and changed rooms and cleaned facilities.

When Gemma isn’t traveling, she loves hiking, gardening, and practicing yoga. She finds joy in creating spaces that are both practical and beautiful, and she’s always keen to learn more!
Over the past few years, she has co-owned and helped build two restaurants in New Zealand, gaining valuable experience along the way, from designing and building spaces to managing their online presence.
Gemma enjoys traveling, embracing different cultures, and discovering ways to live a low-impact life. She’s been fortunate to volunteer, live, and travel abroad, including olive picking in Italy, cooking, cleaning, and helping with small building projects on farm-stays. These experiences have broadened her perspective and deepened her appreciation for community-focused living. Gemma is a curious, adventurous person with a passion for the outdoors and meaningful connections.
We're looking forward to expanding and sharing our skills, seeing another part of the world, and building lifelong connections!

Was noch ...
Nathan loves making sourdough bread, cooking, going camping, fishing and playing all sports,
Gemma loves camping, exploring markets, going on food adventures, cycling. She's also learning to surf and looking forward to snowboarding while in Canada.
We also love spending time with young children and can't wait to start our own family!
