about me:
My name is Janina, I am 19 years old and I live in the South of Germany. With my parents and my two years elder brother, I live in a small village near the Lake Constance.
Last June I completed my A-levels and now I want to travel the world to gain new and unforgettable experiences.
A dream of mine is to explore Canada with its people, culture and beautiful nature.
Because I am a really open-minded person, I am looking forward to meet new people and interchange with them. My friends would describe me as an highly responsible, very honest but also cheerful person.
In my free time, I love being creative by painting and drawing. Furthermore, I enjoy doing sports like jogging, biking or playing volleyball in the sports club. Plus, I am playing the saxophone in the music club in my home village. What I really like about it is that here are people from all ages spending time together. Beyond, I am an altar server in my village since ten years. Because I love the contact with children I've organized several meetings to get the new servers well integrated into our group.
During a social project, I had been to the kindergarten, doing handcraft work with the kids and reading out books for them.
Drawing a lot in my free time, I created and published a book for children at age of 15 during the Corona pandemic. It tells the story of two hippos, which are searching for a delicious and healthy dish, while experiencing a lot of adventures. I would be happy about translating it for you into English.
Moreover, I could imagine myself helping students with their homework at several subjects. Plus, I enjoy spending time with other likeminded people.
Furthermore, because we have a big garden, I spend much time working there with my family. We are always running a lot of gardening projects and we grow our own vegetables every year. Because my brother and I used to have rabbits, I really enjoy having animals around me.
In March I volunteered at an domestic animal shelter in Surrey. Here I mostly took care if the smalls, the rabbits and guinea pigs. Now, I am volunteering at an wildlife rescue center in Burnaby. Besides the animal care, I also got trained on helpline and admission, which was a great experience. In general, it is amazing to see how your work contributes to the well-being of the animals.
