Beschreibung
We are a couple, Kendal (33yrs) and Richard (31yrs). We have been travelling Central America after living in Australia and travelling in Asia for 2.5years. We will be arriving in Colombia Cartagena on 19th May and are looking for Workaway opportunities to keep us busy and meet new people whilst experiencing local cultures, different ways of life and of course improve our Spanish!
We are both very friendly people with an easy going nature who want to learn new skills and help others.
When we are not travelling Richard works as a trained air conditioning engineer. Before we started exploring the world he spent the majority of his free time renovating his house back in the UK . Richard has some construction and maintenance skills which hosts should find useful. He enjoys fixing things and fault finding around the house. We both have previously helped with renovating an old chalet in Japan.
I (Kendal) have experience in managing a store and have worked in administration within the finance industry since completing my university degree. I love working with people and I am open to trying new things which hopefully will be different to my usual 9-5 desk job. I enjoy helping my father at his allotment back home.
We both love animals, I have grown up in a house with many pets, be it a dog,cat,hamster or a couple of budgies! We also have experience working at a dog and cat rescue shelter in Thailand which we loved!
We are motivated by hard work and learning new skills and love learning from the people we meet.
We enjoy keeping fit, making things, whether it be crochet, DIY or food.
We would love to meet some friendly hosts and learn some local cooking skills.
We are both open to working with children too as this will be the next step for us when we finish our travels.
Any opportunity to use our time productively would be welcomed 😊

Was könntest du arbeiten?
Kendal - I have previously worked as a manager of a popular milkshake store, I enjoyed this role a lot as I was able to put my customer service skills to good use! I am able to problem solve quickly and have confidence speak to members of the public.I have great English writing skills which were put to good use whilst studying for a law degree and in my career working within the finance industry. I have good IT skills and numeracy skills.
In my spare time I have volunteered in charity shops and with a blind elderly charity as part of a befriending scheme.
I enjoy cooking and keeping a house clean. I have cared for many pets in the past as well as young family members.
I have helped teach primary school children in their sports lessons too.
Richard - Richard is a trained air conditioner engineer. In his spare time he has worked to renovate his house in the UK. This included tasks such as painting, upscaling the bathroom and kitchen, renovating the garden including building brick walls and laying a driveway with drainage. Richard likes to fault find a fix things around the house.
We are keen to further our skills in the areas that interest us such as cooking, DIY and gardening in addition to working with children.

We enjoy playing board games and card games and have a few games we could teach our hosts. We also both love music.
Kendal enjoys sewing, embroidery and crochet, generally making her own clothes.
