Hello everyone,
my name is Lenja I am 19 years old and I will be staying in Canada for a work & travel program. I will be starting in Vancouver but I am eager to visit the surrounding cities as well.
I just finished school in Germany and want to gain experience while travelling. I‘ve been working as a receptionist in a veterinary practive, as a babysitter with children at the ages of 6 months up to 12 years and as a waitress in an italian Restaurant. Working with people or animals brings me joy and I am always happy to help! I also like to organize everything and to stay on top of things.
Aside from my jobs I enjoy my free time with friends, books, music ( I love concerts and live music) and horseback riding. I grew up on a farm so animals and people always surrounded me. I have grown to love and cherish nature, good company and I learned that there is always work to be done.
I would consider myself a pretty open and communicative person which is why I am really looking forward to connect with some of you here :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Thanks to the jobs (receptionist, waitress, babysitter) I have been doing I developed many different skills. I learned how to interact with customers in a friendly manner in order to ensure a positive stay or a pleasant cooperation. I have learned to manage appointments, phone calls and staff rosters.
An important part of all the jobs I have done was to always keep the workplace clean and welcoming to clients. I personally think that these jobs have helped me build my confidence during the past years. I especially learned a lot about myself and how I interact with other human beings. Especially the work with babies and children has brought me a lot of joy and taught me to take responsibility and to care of others.
I am looking forward to my stay in canada and I am hoping to meet many new people and that I will be able to work in many new jobs and surroundings while im there.

Was noch ...

Talking about my interests more specifically I have to say that school and work have been taking up most of my time, which I did enjoy a lot..but if I do have some free time I like to spend it with my friends. Going outside, enjoying the weather, going for a walk or hitting the gym, spend time with my family, our dog or our horses, reading a book, watching a movie or listening to some music..these are the things you would most likely catch me doing then.
Even more specifically I also enjoy board games, crime novels, artists Like Ed Sheeran, Dean Lewis, TateMcRae, Taylor Swift, but I listen to many different genres and eras (70s- today) the list goes on and on. My guilty pleasure tv shows are Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother or anything based on medicine or crime honestly. I dont like anything with horror or something too sci-fi or fanatsy even though I do like things like Twilight or Harry Potter. My go to movies are probably anything from the 2000s. I have always had a thing for the english language since starting to learn it in grade 3 and I am very grateful for that. Its also a reason for why I am so eager to travel, see the world and to be able to up my game talking to many native english speakers.
