We, Lucia & Josip, have been a couple and best friends for more than 5 years now, and have recently decided to seize the opportunity and "break camp" in order to expierence this multicoloured world with all its ways and wonders.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are both quite adaptable and willing to learn and have both gained experience in a variety of jobs. For the last couple of years we have both been working the field of pest control and therefore possess a good knowledge about all the creatures great and small.
Before we took off for our little adventure, we spent a substantial amount of time at the old country home of Lucia's parents, where we helped around the house and land, such as clearing undergrowth, hewing trees, chopping wood, building a terrace and small pathways in the forest.
In general we really enjoy being outdoors and getting our hands dirty so to speak.
Perhaps there is not THE particular skill any of us can offer, but we are both hard working and dedicated and when we start something we like to do it properly and also finish it.

Josip is a learned carpenter and so is also a great handyman. In the past he has worked on construction sites and also possesses a forklift license. He is always thorough in his work, sometimes even meticulous, independent but always willing to accept advice. He is always happy to learn new ways of doing things and is always eager to hear about different cultures and their customs and practices. He is also the best onion chopper in town ;-P

Lucia has worked in the nursing field as personal assistant with people with disability for many years, which was a very challenging but also valuable and rewarding experience. She has lived abroad on various occasions, twice working as an Au Pair for a longer period of time in Italy and London, also volunteering at a hostel in the Czech Republic. She has also volunteered at the local animal shelter in her home town.

Was noch ...

As a couple we have found our mutual passion in traveling and hiking, as well as in the subtler joys of relaxing by a river bed or at a camp fire. A while back we interrail travelled for two months, sometimes camping out in the wild, always treating nature and its inhabitants with respect, which should be a matter of course. We are easy going, open minded and sociable but also value privacy and solitude.

We have always admired people living self-sufficiently and off grid and it would be a wonderful experience to live with and learn from people who are willing to take workawayers in and share their knowledge and skills in exchange for a helping hand in any way possible. Hopefully workaway will be a chance to give and receive for all parties involved, whether young or old, two- or fourlegged, adept or novice 😉
