Beschreibung

Hello,
We are Mats and Alina, come from Hamburg and are travelling the world for a year. First we are travelling to New Zealand and later we would like to travel on to Canada.

We love travelling in the great outdoors. We have already travelled to many places in Europe with our camper. We love sleeping surrounded by nature, camping or going on long hikes.

We always take binoculars with us so that we can observe the local wildlife.
I (Mats) in particular have a great passion for birds.

For these reasons, we also decided to travel to New Zealand and Canada because we want to experience the breathtaking nature there. It is important to us to treat nature with respect and to work to protect it.

We also enjoy going to concerts and festivals in our free time.
I really enjoy ball sports, especially soccer. Alina is very musical, enjoys taking photos and loves being in the water.
During the trip, we would both like to learn how to surf.

We are curious to see where the journey will take us and are really looking forward to meeting lots of new people and getting to know and understand the countries and their character.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We have carried out the following activities at Workaway so far:
- Weed removal
- pruning shrubs
- Chopping wood
- Planting trees and shrubs
- Laying out weed mats
- working with a brush cutter
- Peeling and preserving fruit
- Tidied up the garage

We both grew up in a very rural area with a large garden. As a result, we have already done a wide variety of gardening jobs.
For example, we can mow the lawn, plant flowers or shrubs, chop wood, remove weeds or prune plants. We've actually used every gardening tool at some point.

We also both grew up with animals and love looking after pets of all kinds. Alina had a dog, rabbits and a hamster. I looked after chickens and rabbits on our old small farm.

We have lived in our own flat for 7 years and know what it means to run a household. We also have lots of plants in the flat and on the balcony.
There is always some manual work to be done, which we do independently.

We both did the same commercial apprenticeship, which is how we got to know each other.
Before our trip, I worked for a nature conservation organisation in Hamburg and Alina worked for a company that sells recordings in collaboration with musicians and bands from all over the world.
Thanks to our office jobs, we are very familiar with common software.

We both speak English and Alina can also speak some French.
