Hi there
I'm Pino an open-minded, 29 year old semi grown up from Switzerland.
My background is more on the mechanical side but I also really enjoy to work outside in nature and do physical work. I Would consider myself as a handy person, so if you have stuff that needs to be fixed, here I am.
I'm always down to explore and learn new things, pushing myself out of my comfort zone as much as possible and try my best to see the funny side of life when things not exactly go as planned, as they tend to almost always do ;)

I did a four year apprenticeship as a construction mechanic in Switzerland.
In 2017/2018 I was traveling in Africa for a year, where I participate on a lot of different Workaway projects. I really like the concept of it since it allows to change perspective which is in general really important in life I think. Happy to give a hand wherever needed.

Volunteering I already did:

2 Weeks in the Sahara desert in Morocco
- building bricks and houses

6 Weeks in Zambia in a school for blind and disabled children
- general assistance
- fixing the braille machines
- driving the school bus
- cooking

2 Months in Zimbabwe in a rural village
- gardening work
- animal care
- assistance with tourists
- building houses and roofs

2 Months in Namibia on a lodge in the Kalahari desert
- stargazing guide for lodge guests

- general maintenance of the property
- organizing sunset tours

1 Month in South Africa on a farm
- fixing things
- garden and farming work

2 Weeks in Lesotho helping an NGO
- palliative care

1 Week in Colombia off-grid
- farm work
- animal care

2 Weeks in Sardinia totally off-grid
- bee keeping
- gardening and construction work
- cut down eucalyptus trees

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I learned construction mechanic for heavy machines in Switzerland and worked as a machine mechanic in Switzerland and abroad for couple of years.
Whenever I have time, I work as gardener in a landscaping company in my hometown. At the moment I work as field service engineer where I have the opportunity to travel around the world and take care of customers.
