Beschreibung

Hi there! My name is Thirza, 30 years old, and from the Netherlands. I live on the Veluwe, a ridge of hills with many landscapes: forest, heathen, and lakes. I just completed my Master’s degree in 'Gender Studies' and am almost done with my other Master's in 'Sustainable Citizenship: Cultural Anthropology', both of which I chose because I am interested in equality, sustainability, and wellbeing across different communities and ecosystems. Before that, I did a BA in Medieval Celtic Studies.

So far, I have volunteered at WorkAway projects in Spain and Italy. Those experiences were absolutely wonderful and I would love to continue to do WorkAway exchange in the upcoming year! I love that as a WorkAwayer, I could contribute to (sustainability) projects while learning about different ways of living and meeting new people!

My interests include art & creativity, somatic healing & meditation, nature & rural areas, and languages! Besides WorkAway exchanges, I have travelled Sweden, Czech Republic, Ireland, England, Poland, Germany and Swiss.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

While I don’t have much specific knowledge of agriculture or construction, I am a quick learner and am confident that I can pick up the necessary skills and knowledge fast. My two WorkAway experiences were at (almost fully) self-sustaining farms, where I gardened and helped harvest various fruits and veggies. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty or do lots of physical work. I also have experience in customer service which would be valuable for work that is related to hospitality. If desired, I can request my previous summer jobs to offer references about me.

Through my academic studies, I have gained strong writing and administrative skills. Through these studies, I have also been learning what sustainability can mean in theory, and I would love to learn more about putting this into practice as a WorkAwayer.

Beyond that, I have previously trained as a somatic coach, and have experience offering (guided) exercises or meditations to people. Because of this I have strong listening and communication abilities.

Lastly, I like painting portraits as an art-form, and can play a bit of guitar 😊.

Was noch ...

I am interested in spirituality and holistic wellbeing. I find eastern philosophy such as yoga, taoism, and sufism fascinating, which also underlies my background in somatic healing and meditation. I always love to learn more about people's personal philosophies of living.
