I’m Emma :)

I’m from the foggiest place in the world- an island called Newfoundland, located off the east coast of Canada. As much as I love my home, I enjoy taking a break from the fog and exploring other parts of this beautiful planet.

I’ve decided to take a couple years off of my studies to travel and have new experiences. Much like others on this platform, I’m interested in other languages and cultures, and I want to learn as much as I possibly can.

I’m always up for adventures like camping, swimming, or trekking, and I love to be outdoors. I also really enjoy experimenting with photography and videography, and I love to play with different mediums of art as well. I’m super excited to learn new skills, and to meet new people.

English is my first language, and while I can communicate in French, I’d like to become fluent. I’m happy to help others practice their English, and in exchange I’d love to learn something new as well. I’m currently trying to learn Spanish, and would love the opportunity to learn.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I’m very adaptable and am eager to learn new skills!

Language:
I’m bilingual in English and French, and I have a basic understanding of some Spanish. I obtained my DELF B1 diploma in 2022, and I can proficiently communicate in French. I would love to help hosts practice their English as well, and I would never give up the opportunity to learn another language too.

Child Care:
In addition to working as a summer camp counsellor in the past, I currently Nanny part time for two little boys (2 1/2 and 5 years old). I love kids, and have done a considerable amount of volunteer work with under 12 as well. Additionally, you can rest assured knowing I have my First AID and CPR training as well.

Eco Projects/Gardening:
I also have some experience when it comes to gardening and farming. I’ve been a part of different eco projects in past, having spent time on an organic permaculture farm, and worked on a hydroponics vegetable garden. I’ve also gained some knowledge from spending time with my Mom in the garden over the years.

Art/Creative Projects:
I’ve always been a very creative individual, and I love playing with different forms of art. I particularly take an interest in video/film creation, as well as photography. I also enjoy painting and making prints, however I would mostly consider this as a creative pass time. I would be honored to be a part of any creative vision, and would love to lend my skills as an asset.

Animal Care:
I have some experience pet sitting for friends, and I have a lab mix of my own. I’m very comfortable around animals, and I’m capable of handling large dogs. I’m a big animal lover overall, and would love to take advantage of an opportunity working with domestic or non-domestic animals :)

Light Housekeeping:
I also of course have the general skills when it comes to household tasks like cleaning, washing, and cooking. I like to keep a tidy space, and don’t mind putting in work when it’s expected of me. Overall, I would be happy to help with any tasks around the house, and I’m always willing to lend a hand where I can!
