Beschreibung

Hello :) We're Maggie and Michael, and we're leaving our tiny island off the coast of Canada to backpack through Central and South America in the new year. With degrees in Environmental Science and a deep love for the outdoors, we are passionate about sustainability, wildlife, and preserving the natural world. You can always find us outdoors—whether we're backcountry hiking, meditating on the beach, scuba diving, etc.

We’re thrilled to embark on this next chapter—experiencing new places and cultures, exchanging knowledge, and forming meaningful connections along the way! We look forward to contributing to your project, sharing our skills, immersing ourselves in the community, and making a positive impact wherever we go :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Maggie:
I am a dedicated yoga practitioner passionate about sharing the benefits of mindfulness and movement with others. For several years, I’ve been an 'Energy Exchanger' at Modo Yoga, where I clean and care for the space in exchange for practice. I’ve also spent nearly a decade teaching swimming lessons to people of all ages, fostering confidence in the water and strengthening my communication and interpersonal skills.

Art is a lifelong passion of mine (painting, writing, sewing, music, and dance). My creative nature, combined with my attention to detail, has strengthened my skills in photography, videography, and social media content creation. I’m excited to apply this knowledge, whether it’s through teaching music, creating art and DIY projects, or assisting with content creation, blogging, and brand promotion.

My degrees in Biology and Environmental Science have deepened my understanding of the intricate relationships within our ecosystems. My hands-on experience in gardening and caring for my family's chickens has deepened my connection to the land, and I’m eager to further develop these practices to promote sustainable, mindful living and ecological conservation!

Michael:
After having completed post-secondary programs in Environmental Science and Plant Sciences, I have continued to pursue my passion for sustainable living and food security through years of experience in the agricultural sector. I have worked closely with large-scale, indoor hydroponic systems across Canada, as well as small-scale, organic fruit and vegetable farming. I always seek opportunities to learn more and I love to find ways to apply my practical horticultural knowledge!

I also have a deep love for learning languages. Coming from a Canadian-Colombian household, I find languages to be a wonderful tool for cultural immersion and fostering meaningful connections. I speak fluent English, intermediate Spanish, and have studied French for more than 10 years!

Oh, and we both LOVE to cook :D
