My name is Michelle, a 31-year-old Canadian currently traveling solo through South East Asia. I am eager to immerse myself in the cultures of the countries I visit, and I am seeking a volunteer opportunity that allows me to contribute to a local project while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Business and a Master’s in Accounting, with a deep passion for budgeting, entrepreneurship, and finance. However, beyond my professional background, I am an active, mindful, and outdoors-oriented individual. I enjoy hiking, cycling, snowboarding, and practicing yoga daily.

Professionally, I bring over 10 years of experience working as a financial controller in international firms. I am skilled in project management, budgeting, and public speaking, with fluency in both French and English. I am also currently improving my Spanish to enhance my business proficiency. In addition to my corporate skills, I have always worked in customer service, ranging from pharmacy and restaurant work to banking, which has allowed me to develop strong interpersonal skills.
On a more personal note, I come from a family with a strong connection to the outdoors. My father owns a piece of land where I assist with wood chopping, and I have an natural affinity for outdoor tasks. This, combined with my love for new challenges, makes me excited to step outside my comfort zone and contribute to a volunteer experience and cultural exchange.

I am particularly interested in learning about sustainable projects whatever the nature may be and really immerse in local practices. I believe my background in project management, coupled with my hands-on work ethic, would allow me to be a valuable asset to your team. Whether it’s assisting with planting, harvesting, or daily farm operations, I am eager to contribute and learn.
