Description
We are Alma and Erick, we live and work in our home-studio-garden. We dedicate ourselves to art, carpentry, and pottery. We have three dogs: two are young and enjoy hiking in the mountains, and one is already old and a sleepyhead. We will start our garden in 2025, raising one rooster, two hens, and eight chicks. Now we want to implement Workaway to support each other in the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and to help provide accommodation for travelers.
Somos Alma y Erick, vivimos y trabajamos en nuestra casa-taller-huerto, donde producimos e impartimos talleres y residencias de carpintería, grabado y estencil.
Comenzamos el 2025 con nuestro huerto y la crianza de 1 gallo, 2 gallinas y 11 pollitos.
Tenemos 3 perros; 2 son jóvenes y disfrutan de caminatas en la montaña y 1 ya es viejito y muy dormilón.
Principalmente queremos intercambiar nuestro alojamiento por apoyo en el trabajo del huerto y el jardín, podrias apoyarnos también en alguna actividad de los otros talleres si es de tu interés y en el momento de tu visita tenemos actividades o producción programada.

There are activities happening all the time at the workshop-house. We're mainly interested in gardening, work sharing, and sharing knowledge if you have more experience, since we're just starting out in 2025. If you have the skills and interest to learn, practice, and support us in projects or workshops we're running, we'll be happy to teach you and share with you.

En la casa-taller todo el tiempo hay actividades, principalmente nos interesa el intercambio en el huerto, intercambio de trabajo pero también de saberes si tienes más experiencia ya que nosotros apenas comenzamos este 2025.
Si en tu visita tienes las habilidades e interés de aprender, practicar y apoyarnos en proyectos o talleres que estemos realizando, será un gusto enseñarte y compartir.
Help
We offer exchange accommodation and support in various activities that need to be carried out.
*GARDEN: Mowing, germination, transplanting, pruning, weeding, harvesting, and watering.
*CHICKENS: Cleaning the coop and feeding the birds.
*DOG WALKING: Optional if you enjoy it and would like to do so.
*COOKING: We include two meals a day (breakfast and lunch), and we will arrange the preparation.
We can arrange a video call in advance to get to know each other and discuss the possible exchange.
*WORKSHOPS: If we have a production or workshop during your visit that you can participate in, we will let you know and, depending on your skills and interests, invite you to learn and support us.

*HUERTO: Chapear, germinar, transplantar, podar, limpieza de hierba, cosechar, regar.
*GALLINAS: Limpieza del gallinero y alimentación de las aves.
*PASEOS DE PERROS: Opcional en caso de que te gusten y te gustaría hacerlo.
*COCINAR: Incluimos dos comidas al día (desayuno y comida) y nos organizaremos para la elaboración.
Podemos hacer previo una videollamada para conocernos y platicar sobre el intercambio posible.
*TALLERES: Si en tu visita tenemos producción o algún taller en el que puedas participar, te lo haremos saber y según tus habilidades e intereses invitarte a aprender y apoyarnos.

We will share the common areas (living room, kitchen, dining room, and garden).

We eat everything and are open to different types of food.

*Habitación 1: 1 cama matrimonial, 1 cama individual, baño privado y agua caliente.
*Habitación 2: 1 cama matrimonial.
Compartiremos las áreas en común (sala, cocina, comedor y jardín).
Ofrecemos 2 comidas al día (desayuno y comida).
Nosotros comemos de todo y estamos abiertos a diferentes formas de alimentación.
What else ...
In your free time, there are many ecotourism options in Xico. You can also visit the neighboring towns and the nearest city, Jalapa. Within Xico, you can travel to various places for a minimum taxi fare of $30, and a maximum of $100, depending on the distance. To travel from Xico to Teocelo, Coatepec, or Jalapa, there are collective taxis or buses (fare $15-$25). We spend most of our time at home since we live and work here. We usually receive visits from friends and/or people who want to take workshops.
En tu tiempo libre hay muchas opciones de ecoturismo en Xico, puedes también visitar los pueblos vecinos y la ciudad más cercana que es Xalapa.
Dentro de Xico puedes moverte a varios lugares con una cuota mínima de $30 en taxi, máxima de $100 según la distancia.
Para salir de Xico a Teocelo, Coatepec, Jalapa, hay taxis colectivos o autobus (cuota $15 - $25)
Nosotros la mayor parte del tiempo estamos en casa ya que vivimos y trabajamos aquí, generalmente recibimos visitas de amigos y/o personas para tomar talleres.
