    Description

Hello! We are a little family of 3- Emily, Ian, and Ari (~4 years old). We make large scale interactive art for the public and events like Burning Man, have a permaculture garden and are currently putting the finishing touches on our straw bale home on our 18+ acre property in Huntsville, Utah!

We love to have folks interested in learning about living in a strawbale home (with earthen floors), learning about creating large-scale art, and other random ecological living tasks, or just helping a bit around the house and with the little one. No previous experience necessary.

This is a great place if you want to experience the Wild West! We have the oldest saloon in the Western US here in Huntsville. We also have two beautiful reservoirs nearby and are surrounded by breathtaking mountains with lots of hiking and biking. Workawayers often spend their days off just hiking out our door or accompanying us to go swimming or kayaking.

Southern Utah (Moab, Zion) and Yellowstone (Montana) are just a few hours from us, we often help Workawayers plan trips to those locations.

Please note, we are not Trump supporters, and if you are concerned about Trump's politics, you are safe here with us. We can also help you get here from the airport (SLC) if you're flying in from abroad.

We think of the Workawayer experience as a cultural exchange. We really love to get to know our Workawayers well and bring them into our family to experience what it's like to live in the American West.

Of note, in addition to regular Workaways, this spring/summer, we are offering 1 month long Workaways/internships with our nonprofit org the Center for Ecological Design with a focus on Natural Building and Off-Grid Living. Please reach out if you are interested.

Experience life in the Wild West! We can show you how what it means to live what we call, ecological living! Emily is from NY, Ian is from Utah. We are also Burners (Burning Man culture) and can share that culture with you, including making DIY large scale art. We are big into ecological building and design- natural building and permaculture included.

We are not willing to accept folks with dogs as our property is in an Urban Wildlife Interface zone and we do not want the natural wildlife to be disturbed. If you feel your dog is of a breed or age where this may not be a concern, we would consider it.
