  Hello and welcome to our site on Workaway. We are a couple (Eve and Jiri) who speak English, Czech, and also a little bit of Spanish. We lived in Australia and the UK before we met, and got married in Australia six years ago. We traveled for 6 months around Australia in a Crafter campervan that I designed and built, enjoying the freedom of van-life. We also have traveled to many other places in the world separately and have visited Peru, India, Nepal, and the UK together in the past few years.
  
  I originally came from the Czech Republic and since 2004 I have been living in the UK and Australia. We came to visit in the summer of 2019 and we decided to move here permanently in January 2022. The property is located in Frahelz which is a small village of 152 residences in South Bohemia, Czech Republic. The property has been in my family for over one hundred years and we have been entrusted with restoring it to its traditional blueprint.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Many options are available, such as picking forest mushrooms in the season, wild blueberry picking in the summer (usually July/August), swimming in local ponds, train or bus travel to neighboring villages and towns, bike riding in the regional natural reserve, visiting the nearby pub for a meal and a beer, participating in the local village activities such as fish out, and various celebrations.
  
  Guided tour of Prague or other tourist destinations (additional cost involved); opportunity to access healing modalities provided by a host (additional cost); tasting experience of plant-based cuisine
  and many more.

  Help

  We are looking for extra hands to support us in our daily lives and help us with new gardening projects we have in mind for this upcoming spring and summer. We are happy to accommodate people who are drawn to support us, and also who want to learn about local life and culture.
  
  This may include the following tasks: preparation of firewood; harvesting produce; processing (bottling, drying, or freezing) produce; mowing lawns; learning to cook plant-based foods; and planting vegetables, fruit, and trees.

  We would welcome all nationalities and would enjoy learning other languages and sharing English and Czech with those who visit. Eve is qualified as a TESOL teacher of the English language.

  Accommodation

  We offer a self-contained room with a separate bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, double size daybed, table, and chairs. Laundry service is also available.
  
  We will provide food from the garden, as well as some other resources. We are planning to build an outside kitchen allowing cooking directly in the garden area.

  What else ...

  Become inspired and motivated by the ease of planting your own vegetables. Learn about herbs that naturally grow on our land and can be harvested for healthy natural alternative medicines, essential oils, dried teas, and tinctures.
  
  You will get to experience an authentic village life and cultural experience in the Czech Republic in exchange for your help and lodgings. We have created an alternative version of living here growing organic fruits and vegetables and would love to share this with like-minded souls.
  
  Our goal is to become self-sufficient with power, food, and even water if required in the future. We have two wells available which we use for watering our garden and an electric solar panel system that covers our power requirements for most of the year.
  
  The property is divided into three separate living sections and the garden provides private space to meditate or sit quietly at the pond area amongst the garden full of flowers, fruit trees, and vegetables.
  
  We also run three bumblebee houses during the season (May to September) to help us with crop pollination and in support of the declining population of bumblebee species in the Czech Republic due to environmental pollution. It is truly a delight to see them throughout the whole garden as they spend their days pollinating the area and bringing it back to their hive.
  
  The property cat will keep you company and always wait around for a pat.
  
  The paddocks surrounding the property, the forest, and the ponds within walking distance, give the feeling of being in your little world. Yet the neighbors and the local pub are just across the road, the train station is 5 min walk, the bus stop is up the road and larger towns like Trebon, Jindrichuv Hradec, or Ceske Budejovice around 15-30mins car drive away.
  
  We welcome those who wish to experience the tranquillity that this property offers yet only a 90-minute car drive from Prague for a city exploration experience. We also offer our skills in Bowen Therapy, Light Therapy, Pandora Star Therapy, Access Bars treatments, and relaxation massage or energy healing as an additional cost for those who wish to experience alternative therapy sessions for physical, emotional, and energetic growth.
