Description
I'm Amandine, I'm running an animal sanctuary while I also run my business from home. It's me and 3 cats, 1 puppy, 4 donkeys (soon to be 5), 1 horse, 13 chickens, 3 ducks, 8 geese, 1 goat and LOTS of land. I started from scratch 1.5 year ago, on my own, so things are moving slowly. There are a lot of varied tasks to do on the farm, from the main house to renovate (I, and any volunteers/workawayers, stay in the wooden house), to gardening, promoting the sanctuary for donations on socials, helping with content creating, weeding, cleaning up pens, fixing barriers and many other things, general maintenance, and more. It's a beautiful property on a hill surrounded by nature and the absolute dream for animal lovers.
Please note that we are in a quite remote location. 7kms from the village. There are no shops or bars walking distance, and I only host 1 or 2 (same group) of volunteers at once. You must enjoy nature and the quiet, and happy to be on your own.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Right now things are challenging at the sanctuary as we are receiving very few donations and my business is pretty slow. As a result, we are prioritising volunteers who have good construction/DIY skills and can help with the following: house renovations, bathroom tiling, plastering walls, flooring, plumbing, electricity.
We will need help again in the future with (5 hours a day 5 days a week):
- priority: house renovations, including floors, walls, painting, assembling and more
- content marketing support to spread the word about the sanctuary
- general cleaning of the farm (a lot of manure handling)
- gardening
- facilities improvement (DIY lovers preferred as this is NOT my area of expertise)
- animal care (feeding, cuddling, and cleaning their areas)
- fundraising, events
Please note it can get VERY hot in the summer months and the house doesn't have aircon.Languages

double room in the house I stay in with my 3 cats, on the farm (it's a wooden chalet). Shared kitchen and living area., your own bathroom. I work from home. Groceries provided for all meals, we can discuss meal arrangements as well (who cooks when as we will take turns cooking) as I do not cook every meal for everyone.
I'm happy to provide food that people can cook themselves (I don't have a regular schedule). Some evening meals can be shared if that works for everyone. What else ...
we are located 10 mins from Turis and 35 minutes drive from Valencia. There's a bus from Turis to Valencia and from Valencia to Turis. Ideally you have a car as the farm is quite remote - if you are happy to stay at the farm then this is not a problem. I also go to the village twice a week for Spanish classes so can take you with me or drop you off at the bus stop if you want to go into Valencia. I have a really busy schedule and won't be available to drive you around every day, however we can arrange to drop you off at the bus stop at the weekend for example.
A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
The Wifi has been pretty crap lately, although it used to be decent. So please don't expect to be able to spend your days on the Wifi like you would in an airBnB or hostel. Because I work from home during the day and really need the internet to make a living, it is not possible to stream when I'm working (the rural internet can't handle it).
Space for parking camper vans
There's a lot of land here and many options to park your van depending on the amount of privacy and nature you're looking for. Electricity access is only possible near one of the buildings.
Can possibly accept pets
yes depending on the animals, and whether they have their own space (in your camper for example), to be discussed. It needs to be 100% safe for the free ranging animals we have at the sanctuary.
How many Workawayers can stay?
Two
