Rachele was a really super Workaway. She was great to have around our house and was so helpful with everything.
Being a quite girl at the start. She really came out of her shell and was so interesting and chatty in the end. She had the opportunity to meet lots of different people at our place and they all enjoyed talking with her. She has an

Rachele helped with the weeding, sowing seeds, planting potatoes, flowers, fruit bushes, composting and general garden care.
Rachele also did a week of house sitting where she took care of a guest and preparing breakfast for her.
She also looked after all our animals and poultry. Collecting eggs and cleaning out the hen area. Our dogs and cats miss you so much!
She also cooked lovely Italian food and her Tiramisu was to die for.
We loved having Rachele here and we wish her all the very best for the future and her B&B, Art Classes and Gallery.
We'll be the very first to visit you.
See you again Rachele and we would highly recommend you to another host.
All the best,
Barbara & Georg

I spent the whole month of June in Barbara & Georg's charming old mill, a truly magical and cosy place. The old mill has an incredible story that Barbara will gladly tell you, which makes the place even more magical.
I was in the company of another girl whom I met directly at Barbara and Georg's house, it was nice to have a companion to share

The tasks required were not difficult or strenuous, mostly weeding, planting, transplanting, making and moving compost, feeding the animals, collecting the eggs and so on! Barbara showed us how to run a B&B, we helped her tide up the guest room and give breakfasts when she wasn't at home. At first I was a bit nervous because I had never done it before but I found out that it isn't a difficult task, the guests we met were from all over the world (Australia, Mexico, Germany, Guernsey etc) and they were all pleasant people to talk to.
Special thanks go to Georg for all the delicious meals he cooked for us, I think I gained a few kilos after 1 month at the old mill. Barbara is very motherly and treated us as if we were part of her family, and introduced us to part of her family such as her lovely granddaughters Gwen and Albha. She also offered us several lifts with the car and was very kind in doing so, I was very grateful.
Barbara is a great gardening expert, she explained to me that she attended the Limerick school of permaculture and shared some of her knowledge with us and it made me want to delve deeper into this world. She showed me how to make her 'compost lasagna' and I will definitely make it when I'm in Italy.
I feel immensely grateful for this month spent with Barbara and Georg, you are two wonderful people.
I look forward to seeing you in Italy when my future B&B is ready, in the meantime if you'd like to have a real Italian rural experience I look forward to see you at the grape harvest in September/October :)
I wish you the best,
Rachele xx

I had a wonderfull time with Barbara and George in the beautiful home that they have created. I travelled with my ‘dependant’ son, aged 17, and we were both made very welcome and very comfortable. There was a wide range of potential projects for us to spend our work time on , so we were able to choose the things to do that matched our interests
… read more and skills. Barbara and Georg have hosted people in a range of ways for decades and they are generous, thoughtful and hospitable hosts. They were flexible in allowing us to move our work/ leisure days around to maximise our travel opportunities , and encouraged a good balance of work and rest. We were included in family and local events ( I will never forget a special evening spent with one of their friends who is an award winning Celtic blacksmith). We enjoyed many long conversations about culture, history, crafts, food and travel.
I think of Barbara and Georg as good friends now, and I plan to return and do another Workaway with them next time I have the chance to travel.
I cannot recommend Barbara and George highly enough as hosts for Workawayers of all ages. The world needs more people like them!Left by host for Workawayer (Myra)
Myra was an absolute joy to have around our home. She brought great energy and genuine fun to our place.
Myra has a deep interest in all things Irish, which adds a unique cultural richness to her conversations and projects.
Her passion for traditional skills such as whitewashing, willow work, and furniture restoration is truly admirable. She

Florian was an excellent Work Away. He was so easy to get along with and we had a great time together.
Florian worked so hard at clearing and chopping wood. He prepared a excellent wood pile for us.
Our young grand daughters miss him too, he was excellent doing art and crafts with them and reading with them...even in Irish!
