    Description

I'am Frederique, I'm 54 and I live in a wonderful place called Douarnenez.
It's in Brittany, in the west of France. It's a very lively city on the sea side. There are regular concerts, at any time of the week, exhibitions, two movies theartre and of course several beaches !
I have two daughters, Louise and Zoé, 20 and 23 years old. Louise met wonderful people in Australia and New Zealand thanks to Workaway and I found it great ! Now I would like to allow people to discover the place where I live and at the same time get some help.
I live in a nice old house with 3 bedrooms and I did a lot of work on it. Now there are lots of little things to do to make it perfect. So I need help with painting, hanging shelves, pictures and also taking care of the garden because I left it abandoned (it's a small garden).
I work at home (I'm a tour manager) and I have free time, so we can do the work together.
I occasionally need help when I'm sure to be at home :
    May 1st to 15th
    June 9th to 20th
    June 30th to July 11th
    August 18th to 31st

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Douarnenez has a vibrant cultural scene, with numerous festivals. I know the organizers and can put you in touch if you'd like to volunteer.

Brittany is a very culturally rich region. There is a language inherited from Gaelic. I speak it and can teach you the basics of this language.

    Accommodation

    My house has three bedrooms.
One of them is for me, and I keep one for one of my daughters when she visits. That leaves a large bedroom with two double beds. If none of my daughters are coming, it's possible to use the second bedroom.
If I have guests coming and no room is free, we can set up a tent in the garden with a comfortable mattress. But that will be a one-off.
For meals I find it interesting that we share the chores and everyone cooks. It's a great way to share favorite recipes.
I eat very little meat and would be delighted to welcome vegetarians; it will allow me to discover new recipes!
I favor organic food and I buy my food at the market (there are several during the week, and we have many vegetable growers).
As I am just starting out in this profession, I earn very little money. I can provide food but any special requests will have to be handled by the volunteers

    What else ...

I live a 30-minute walk from the town center and it's only 10-minute bike ride. I can lend you a bike and occasionally my car, if I can guarantee you're a good driver.
In Douarnenez, we love spending evenings in the bars and restaurants along the port. I can take you with me so you can meet people.
I play tuba in a marching band. If you play a musical instrument, I can put you in touch with other musicians.

Smoking is not permitted in the house, especially not in the bedrooms, but it is possible to do so on the terrace.
