    Description

Kia Ora, we are a family of four.

We live in a small rural town about 50 km away from Nelson, 57 km from Nelson Lakes and 48 km from Motueka. All gorgeous drives. For a small town, Tapawera is a beautiful community with heaps of adventures. There is a river with wonderful swimming holes within walking distance from our house, Quinney's Bush Campground 10 min drive, Shedwood Bush truck, with a cool hike up the hill and Wangapeka Valley track that is a must to explore .

We live on a honey extraction plant and have a small 2-bedroom house with a big backyard, garden and some chickens.

We love hosting international visitors, it has been very enriching to have people come and stay with us from such diverse backgrounds. We made beautiful memories and always looking forward to new guests.

For 4 hr a day of help, 6 days a week, we provide food and accommodation. Or you can combine your hours and have days off. We can work around you to make sure you have plenty of time to explore and rest.

We have a big tent and bedding is provided.
The shower and toilet are in the main house.

We are not exclusively plant-based, but we have a garden if you are exclusively plant-based. I generally have dinner ready most days but for breakfast and lunch, you will need to help yourself :-). With 2 little children evenings are full on. Please be proactive in taking care of yourself when it comes to food, we have plenty of it but not always cooked. You are very welcome at the main house after 8 am until 6 pm or shortly after as we get kids ready for bed etc, so showers in between these hours are preferable. There is access to a toilet from outside as well.

During evenings especially we will need help (eg helping with dinner prep and dishes) which would not count towards your HelpX work - they are just part of living in a family. Please be proactive with that :-)

Non-smokers only please as we have little children.

    You must have transportation :-)

    Looking forward to meeting you,

    Ryan & Marina
