Description
I live off-grid in an old farmhouse on a beautiful mountainside in a multi-national community above the town of Lanjaron, 1023 metres above sea level, south-east of Granada.
I have lived in Las Alpujarras permanently since 2005, having been a visitor for 4 years before that.
It's the longest I've lived in one place. Clearly I love it here! I know the area quite well and I continue to find more pockets of paradise with every exploration...
We have amazing and inspiring scenery all around: The Mediterranean sea to the south (and on a clear day, views to Morocco too); the Sierra Nevada to the north and the rest of The Alpujarras to the east.
The Costa Tropical and the historical city of Granada are each about 40 minutes journey in a car/bus from us.
This is a fruit farm. Here there are: olives, grapes, pears, apples, cherries, apricots, mulberries, figs, persimons, nisboros, pineapple-guavas, raspberries, blackcurrants, blueberries, lemons, walnuts and almonds.
I do not husband animals, though there are lots who co-inhabit the land with me!
With my enjoyment of good food and my interest in healthy nutrition and harmonious living, I offer tasty vegan/vegetarian meals & I like to share kitchen activities with others.
The workaway visitors that I have had, have been instrumental in the evolution of this wonderful place that I am honoured to guardian. Many remain in contact and some visit again.
I welcome warm-hearted and open-minded folk who are able to live simply, with joy, as part of nature.Types of help and learning opportunities

They were up for anything and learned anything they didn't already know, fast.
Their capability to "muck in" is exceptional. It was great to have them here, they were very helpful and great company.
They are welcome back anytime :)
She learned quickly and found enjoyment in everything and is a great cook.
She is welcome back anytime!
We communicated in Spanish (a 2nd language for us all), which was great for practice though it sometimes made clear explanations for the jobs we did, a bit hard.

I enjoyed working with her and was also able to successfully set her tasks to do on her own. There was at least one day when her input was better than mine! She was a great assett.
