    Description

Hi there, it's our pleasure to meet you! We are a Dutch-Norwegian combination. Gina is the Norwegian one, Sebastian comes originally from the Netherlands. Since summer 2019 we live on a 'tiny' farm on the country side between Hamar and Lillehammer in Norway. Our house is located on top of a hill (550 masl), at the end of a 2 km private road, with a breath-taking view across lake Mjøsa, Norway's largest lake. It's quiet and peaceful up here. In the midst of nature, no neighbours. We have a garden with terraces, fireplace and sauna. There is direct access to hiking trails and, in winter time (November-April), to cross country tracks. It's a magnificent place to relax and to experience the beauty of nature. A place to be. There’s also a lot to do in the area; culture is nearby. It’s a great starting point to explore Eastern and Central Norway.

With such a big property there's always something practical to do in and around our house (of roughly 400 square meter). We'd appreciate your help very much and look forward to host you. You will have your own room and live with us in our house. We provide the meals or the food in case you want to prepare something your self.

We’d like to bring people back to (their own) nature. We believe and experience that living close to nature enables a sense of well-being and peace of mind.

We speak Norwegian, Dutch and English. And so do our daughters Sofie (December 2018) and Sara (February 2021). And we expect that twins Mia and Mats (March 2023) will be able to do that as well. So with 6 of us it's a full house :-)

We are interested in spirituality, psychology and philosophy, in human existence to go for short. We value honesty, kindness and compassion. We have an inhouse temple for spiritual practices, like meditation and tantra massage. Nice if you want to join! And we love being outdoors in nature. So we are very pleased with where we live.

Be and feel welcome at our place!

We live at a so called småbruk. This is a farm which is no longer in use, but... we still have a big house, a barn, a garage, and quite a piece of land to maintain. So there's always something practical to do. Like working in the (kitchen) garden, painting the house, cutting wood, fixing things. Furthermore there is always some bigger project going on. At the moment we're building a green house, and extending the playground for our kids. And inside we’re making a temple for our meditation/yoga/tantra practices 🙏

Another project is in our basement; we're turning a part of it into a separate unit of approx. 50 square meter with a combined bed and living room, bathroom, toilet, and kitchen. When this section is ready it can be used by a workawayer.

We have a big wooden house of approximately 400 square meter. Divided over 4 levels it consists of a kitchen, a dining room, 2 living rooms, 1 tv/play room, 1 office, 4 bed rooms, 1 bath room, 1 temple, a basement and an attic. You will have your own room or the separate unit in the basement by the time it's ready for use.

Furthermore we have the possibility to create several rooms on the attic (third floor), which is not in use at the moment.

We will provide all meals or the food to prepare them.

Attached to our house is what we call 'the other house'. Currently we rent it out to a former classmate of Sebastian and her family (husband, two daughters of 7 and 9), also from The Netherlands. You will not be involved with any maintenance, cleaning or whatsoever regarding to this house.

The nearest town is Moelv, which has a train and bus station. From here it's easy to go by train to for example Oslo (capital city, approx. 1h45m), international airport Gardermoen (1h15m), Hamar (30m) and Lillehammer (30m).
