Description
Hi! I’m Gonzalo, and I live in Alcázar de San Juan, a small, town in the heart of La Mancha, the land of windmills and Don Quixote. It’s right in the center of Spain and really well connected by train and road to pretty much anywhere in the country.
I work as a Marketing Director at a multinational company, and I’m currently trying to improve my English. That’s why I’ve decided to open my home to native (or fluent) English speakers who are also interested in learning Spanish and experiencing everyday life here in Spain. Ideally, I’d love to host someone from the UK or the US, but I’m open to anyone with a good level of English and a curious spirit. I live alone in a spacious house, and I’m looking for someone who enjoys cultural exchange, language learning, and maybe even a bit of travel while you're here.
You’d have your own private bedroom and bathroom, and total freedom to explore the area, make friends, and enjoy your time. I work from 8 to 5, so my idea is to spend the afternoons chatting in English in a relaxed and natural way.
I’m easygoing, open-minded, and always up for a good conversation. I’m divorced and have a wonderful 6-year-old son who lives in Seville. He comes to visit now and then. This isn’t meant to be a formal hosting setup. I’d really like it to feel more like sharing a home with a friend. If you're looking for a safe, welcoming, and authentic experience in Spain, I’d be happy to welcome you into my home.Types of help and learning opportunities

As a host, my goal is to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where we can both enjoy learning from each other through language, culture, and everyday life. Even though I live alone, I have close friends and family nearby, and I’d be happy to introduce you to them and help you feel part of the local community. Alcázar de San Juan is a very welcoming town with a strong cultural identity and a truly Spanish way of life. It’s a great place to practice the language, try traditional food, and experience what day-to-day life is really like in the heart of Spain.
I’d be glad to share what I know about the Spanish language and culture, and also about life here in general. Since I work as a Marketing Director, I can also offer insights into business or marketing if that’s something you’re into. And if you need help with practical Spanish, whether it's for shopping, getting around, or chatting with locals, I’ll be there to support you.
What I’m really hoping for is to welcome someone from a different culture, ideally from the UK or the US, so I can improve my English, especially my speaking and listening. But more than that, I’d love to exchange perspectives, learn from each other, and make this a meaningful and enriching experience for both of us.Help
I'm currently at a B1+ level in English and would love to improve my speaking and conversational skills in particular. That's why I'm looking for someone who is fluent or native in English, who enjoys chatting and is open to spending time together in the afternoons or evenings practicing the language in a natural, relaxed way.
In return, I’m happy to help you with your Spanish and introduce you to local life, culture, and places around the area.Languages

You’ll have your own private bedroom and bathroom at home, so you’ll have all the space and privacy you need. The house is big, clean, and really comfortable, a quiet, safe place where you can relax after a day out exploring or practicing Spanish.
One thing that makes it extra cozy is the underfloor heating and cooling system powered by aerothermal energy. It keeps the temperature just right all year round, whether it’s the middle of summer or the heart of winter. I’ll provide fresh bedding and towels, and of course, there’s fast WiFi and all the basics you’d expect in a modern home.
As for meals, I usually cook simple Spanish food and would be happy to eat together when it works for both of us. You’re more than welcome to use the kitchen too if you prefer to cook your own meals. We can do the grocery shopping together, and if you enjoy cooking, I’d love to try one of your favorite dishes sometime! What else ...
Every other weekend, my 6-year-old son stays with me from Saturday to Sunday. He’s a sweet and curious kid, and while I’ll be spending time with him during those days, you’ll still have your own space and freedom.
Of course, if you’d like to join us and get a taste of Spanish family life, you’re more than welcome to.A little more information
