    Description

Join us at our vibrant school located just outside the serene town of Bodh Gaya, the most important stone on the Buddhist pilgrimage! In the same place where the Buddha attained enlightenment, you can volunteer at the newly opened school, helping underprivileged children learn and grow, providing opportunities that they never before dreamed of!

We have hired 3 local teachers to teach the children basic maths, English and Hindi, and there is a strong focus on life skills, such as respect for elders, discipline, and hard skills such as sewing. We would love you to bring your English skills to the table, or any other skills you believe would benefit the school! (We would also love an artist to decorate the building if that is something you would be interested in!)

Accommodations: As a workawayer, you will enjoy a spacious, comfortable room equipped with a private bathroom and a large ceiling fan to keep you cool during the hot summer days, along with home-cooked meals by the family.

Join us for an enriching experience where you can make a meaningful impact while exploring the spiritual and cultural heritage of Bodh Gaya. We look forward to welcoming you to our school community!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This exchange is not just about giving; it’s also about learning and growing together in a place steeped in spiritual significance and rich cultural heritage.

You will be able to learn about Buddhism while sitting under the same tree The Buddha attained enlightenment, visit local temples, participate in meditative practices, and engage with the spiritual culture that surrounds us.
You will eat home-cooked meals in a local village (learning how to cook with them if you so desire) and spend time around the villagers, offering a genuine glimpse into their daily lives, customs, and traditions. Sharing meals with local families will deepen your cultural immersion and provide a sense of community.

We look forward to welcoming you to our community!
