Description
Hiya! We're on an acre in a semi-rural beach community on the Sunshine Coast of BC! This is a gorgeous area of the world, and we're happy to share this location and our space in exchange for help with the property and some gardening, building, cleaning, painting and organizing projects!
OUR AREA: Roberts Creek (and the Sunshine Coast overall) is a coastal haven of artists, musicians, fishermen, and nature-minded folk. It's a hot spot for hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and paddleboarding into westcoast sunsets. We're on a one acre property in a forested community of small acreages in the village of Roberts Creek - a block to the beach, and 2 blocks to the town pier, general store, cafe, restaurant, stores, yoga studio, and more.
TRANSPORT / LOCATION: We are on a bus route, with buses that can get you to all the amenities of nearby large towns of Sechelt or Gibsons - 10 minute drive or 20-30 minute bus ride. We are a peninsula accessed by a 40 minute ferry from Vancouver, so although we feel like an island, we're only an hour from Vancouver.
OUR FAMILY & OUR WORK: Family with two teens, dog and a cat. We likely don't have much time to be social and hang out or be a great tourist host, so we welcome friends, groups or couples to keep each other entertained! There is lots to do nearby.
ACCOMMODATIONS: awesome, private 1 bedroom suite all to yourself next door to host, with full bathroom, shower, laundry, and kitchenette. Sleeping for up to four - may be shared with other workaway guests in a mini "dorm"-style room with loft bed and lower bed.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
This is an english-speaking, conscious family, home and community. We run a food security charity, so there are opportunities to join in workshops on farm/garden/food/sustainability. Lots of community events locally involving healthy food and local music. Beautiful beaches, waterfalls & forest trails, all walking distance from here.

They are really easy going and fun. They won't count your work hours : as Cass told me at the very beginning, you don't have a schedule or obligations, but it has to feel fair to everyone. And it's exactly what workaway should be !
