    Description

Hi there, we are a 3 generation Kiwi/German family living in the beautiful Coromandel near the town of Thames. We fell in love with our home and it's 5 acre block of land in late 2016 and have been very busy renovating it since we moved in. We have our own chickens , bees and are planting a new orchard and vegetable gardens, we love having our own honey , fresh eggs and home grown food. We still have a lot of landscaping and planting to do, plus our home renovations are not finished.
Siegfried is a semi retired Chef and home handyman who moved here from Germany in 2016 and can cook delicious food.
Carmel is a trained and experienced English teacher who taught Business and Technical English in Germany until being diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, which is the reason we "retired " to a peaceful life in the Coromandel .
Our daughter Bella is 21 and at university in Auckland , so is only home during the holidays .
We live with Carmel's father , who is a retired Architectural Designer, still working on projects at home .
We have been hosts for some years now, so we have a lot of experience hosting international travelers and sharing our home. We have travelled and lived in several countries so understand the feeling of being in a new country far away from "home"
