Description
🌿 Be part of a meaningful animal rescue project in Bulgaria – where your help truly matters! 🐾
Hi! I’m Diana – yoga teacher, Thai massage practitioner, and founder of a non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing abandoned animals and promoting kindness, compassion, and sustainable living.
We are currently caring for 18 dogs and around 20 cats rescued from the streets and there's always a lot to do! This is not a holiday retreat – it’s a real-life project that needs hands-on help and commitment. If you love animals and are not afraid of getting your hands dirty, your support can make a big difference here.
💪 What we need help with (no pro skills needed, just heart and energy):
Feeding, cleaning after, and walking dogs
Keeping the animals' spaces clean and safe
Helping with gardening, simple maintenance, or small repairs
Supporting us in organizing donations, events, or creative eco projects
Taking initiative, being present, and treating animals with care and patience
⏰ We usually work about 4–5 hours a day, 5 days a week – but this can vary depending on what’s needed. Some days may be more intense than others, especially if there are new rescues or emergencies.
🐕🦺 This is for you if you:
Truly love animals and are comfortable around many of them
Can live simply and adapt to a rustic lifestyle
Are reliable, practical, and can follow instructions
Are open to cultural exchange and meaningful teamwork
🌱 What you get in return:
A place to stay in the countryside surrounded by animals and nature
Vegetarian meals, calm evenings(the most of the times), and time to reflect
The deep satisfaction of being part of something bigger
The chance to learn about animal care, sustainable living, and community action
This is not a tourist spot, but a living, breathing place of purpose. If that speaks to you – we’d love to hear from you.
Let’s work, learn, and grow together – for the animals and the Earth. 🐾🌍Types of help and learning opportunities

At my home, you’ll have the chance to learn about Bulgarian traditions and experience authentic village life. We can also practice yoga together, take walks around town, visit a nearby lake, or explore the stunning mountain nature.
After work, we can relax and spend the evenings together—chatting, exchanging languages, enjoying a small fire, and, of course, always having a cat by your side 😊.
You’ll get a real feel for life in a Bulgarian village. Our small village has a local shop for essentials, and the nearest city with supermarkets is just 20 minutes away by bus.Help

Our home is located in a lively and authentic Bulgarian village, offering a true glimpse into rural life. Workawayers will have access to two cozy rooms on the second floor of the house. We have a small but functional kitchen where we can prepare meals together. The bathroom is located inside the house, while the toilet is outdoors, in keeping with traditional village style.
The house has a rustic charm, and while it might not offer all modern luxuries, it provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The village itself is vibrant, with friendly neighbors and a local shop for basic necessities just a short walk away. For larger supermarkets and city amenities, the nearest town is only 20 minutes away by bus. What else ...
In your free time, you can explore the nearby areas, such as Stara Zagora, a vibrant city with plenty to see and do, or Kazanlak, famously known as the "Town of the Bulgarian Rose." You can also visit Kalofer, a charming historical town nestled in the mountains, surrounded by breathtaking nature.
While I don't have a car, public transportation is available, and I’ll be happy to guide you on how to get around!A little more information
