    ** Update 03/07 **

We are currently seeking 1-2 team members for our dining room (the Hitching Rail), starting mid/late July through to the first week of October. This is a fast-paced and busy area of the business, which involves some food service, light bar work, clearing plates, guest interaction and lots of dishes/cleaning! Our ideal candidate is a team player who is organised, friendly and quick on their feet.

As a Hitching Rail team member, your goal is to create a smooth, enjoyable, and memorable experience for every guest who walks through the door. Staff in the Hitching Rail have a rotating chore roster, so that everyone takes turns washing dishes, greeting guests, clearing tables, cleaning bathrooms, serving drinks and replenishing the service area. Tasks rotate daily, but you’ll be part of a team that takes care of everything from setup to cleanup.

Due to the nature of large scheduled group visits, this is busy and repetitive work, but we live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world with amazing nature, wildlife and outdoor experiences on our doorstep. If you are interested, please send a message with your availability and experience.

This is a paid position, offering summer work between 35-40 hours per week.

It is the Yukon's largest and busiest tourist destination. Each day, we welcome hundreds of guests - many arriving on cruise ship tours from Skagway, Alaska, as well as road trippers, locals, and independent travellers. Our site includes a dining hall and bar, production kitchen, gift shop, museum, small café, petting farm, gold panning, and dog cart rides. We’re hiring for seasonal roles across the business and are looking for friendly, reliable, and adaptable people to join our team.

Each summer, we hire around 35 seasonal staff across our departments:

Dining Room / Bar - guest interaction, food service, light bar work, lots and lots of dishes and cleaning: 6-8 staff
Kitchen - food preparation for guests and staff: 6-8 staff
Café - our small cafe offers ice-cream, baked goods, coffee, and pizza on weekend evenings: 2-4 staff (1 full-time)
Gift Shop / Museum - guest interaction/hosting, retail sales, inventory management, bookings, merchandising: 6-8 staff
Yard Crew - animal care, grounds maintenance, gardening, guest interaction and gold panning: 4-6 staff
Dog Operations - dog handling and care, dog cart rides/tours and guest interaction, lots of cleaning: 6-8 staff
Maintenance - repairs, improvements, new buildings, general handyman work: 2-3 staff
Office - bookings/reservations, administration, cash reconciliation: 2 staff

Each area is different, but we often find ourselves training in multiple departments or helping out the wider team when things get busy. Adaptability and being a team player is essential. The work here is fast-paced and repetitive due to the nature of large, scheduled group visits. It’s not a traditional hospitality setting - but if you're organised, enjoy working with people, and can keep a good attitude on busy days, you'll fit in well. We value a positive work environment and make time outside of work to explore the outdoors, relax, and enjoy everything the beautiful Yukon has to offer.

    We offer:
    An hourly wage
    Low cost accommodation
Lunch on the days you work
Unreal nature all around you—mountains, wildlife, and endless hiking trails
A social, international staff crew to share the experience with

    Accommodation

We offer shared accommodation in our rustic and simple staff house. You would share a room, communal kitchen and men’s and women’s bathrooms. On the days that you work, we are happy to feed you a staff meal, and your days off and evenings, you can cook for yourself in the communal kitchen. We do have limited space for RV's or Campers, and also have dry cabins for the very adventurous! Rent ranges from $160-$350 per month depending on accommodation type, and includes utilities.

Living remotely isn't without it's challenges - weather events, less than perfect WiFi, infrastructure limitations, exposure to the elements and wildlife. We are on water delivery and have to be mindful of our water usage in peak season.
