Experience Sardinian life and help around the house in Sestu, Italy

  I am a retired social worker, I am almost 73 years old, I live alone because in September 2022 my husband, Salvatore, moved to Heaven forever 🙏🙏 I have four children, all adults, who come to visit me in turns but don't help me in taking care of the garden because they are very busy. My house, where I have lived since 1983, is located about one kilometer from the town of Sestu, in the province of Cagliari, which is 10 kilometers away, in a 4,000 m2 vegetable garden. The land is home to various fruit trees, olive trees, prickly pears, three chickens and four cats... then flowers, bushes, ornamental plants... The area is quiet although not isolated. I feel very comfortable in my house, in my countryside... although some aspects have some critical issues, such as the presence of several steps, or a few too many guests, i.e. pigeons that at times leave a few too many droppings on the gutters... Jokes aside, nothing serious, I will soon have some bollards installed. However, the house is spacious and, although not pretentious, it is comfortable and equipped with normal conveniences. I am dynamic and curious by nature, I have many interests and I like to dedicate myself to outdoor work, experimenting with various activities, such as making soap, creams, oleolites... in the food sector I enjoy jams and derivatives also wild herbs. Considering my personal situation, logistics, my age... I would be very happy to try to have a cultural exchange, interaction and host some Workaway volunteers who can help me with some jobs to do as I indicated in the next section. I would like the volunteer who will come to stay with me for a period to independently clean the spaces that will be entrusted to her and to share the common ones. I specify that I only speak Italian, for which I am available to offer learning support, and I know school French, which I studied many years ago. Some activities I am already doing are: 1. Painting the gate grates 2. Mowing the lawn and removing weeds 3. Whitewashing the garage and the fence wall 4. Tending the vegetable garden 5. Creating a vertical garden on the fence wall 6. Remove the crushed stone and place it in a dedicated point of field 7. Any other future activities that will be deemed useful Any assistance in these areas would be highly appreciated.
  
  Sono un'assistente sociale in pensione, ho quasi 73 anni, vivo sola perché nel settembre del 2022 mio marito, Salvatore, si è trasferito per sempre in Cielo 🙏🙏
  Ho quattro figli tutti adulti che mi vengono a trovare a turno ma non mi aiutano nella cura del giardino perché sono molto impegnati.
  La mia casa, dove vivo dal 1983, si trova a circa un chilometro dall'abitato di Sestu, provincia di Cagliari, da cui dista 10 chilometri, in un orto/ giardino di 4.000 mq. Il terreno accoglie diverse piante da frutto, olivi, fichi d'India, tre galline e quattro gatti...poi fiori, cespugli, piante ornamentali... La zona è tranquilla per quanto non isolata.
  Mi trovo molto bene nella mia casa, nella mia campagna...per quanto alcuni aspetti abbiano qualche criticità, come la presenza di diversi gradini, o qualche ospite di troppo, cioè piccioni che regalano a momenti qualche deiezione di troppo sulle grondaie ... Scherzi a parte, niente di grave, tra poco provvederò a far sistemare dei dissuasori.
  Comunque la casa è spaziosa e, per quanto non pretenziosa, è confortevole e dotata delle normali comodità.
  Io sono per natura dinamica e curiosa, ho tanti interessi e mi piace dedicarmi ai lavori all'aria aperta, sperimentare varie attività, come ad esempio fare il sapone, creme, oleoliti...nel campo alimentare mi diletto con le marmellate, e derivati anche delle erbe spontanee.
  Considerata la mia situazione personale, logistica, la mia età... mi farebbe molto piacere provare ad avere uno scambio culturale, di interazione e ospitare qualche volontario di Workaway che possa aiutarmi per alcuni lavori da sbrigare così come ho indicato nella sezione successiva.
  Vorrei che il la volontaria/o che verrà a stare da me per un periodo, provvedesse autonomamente alla pulizia degli spazi che le gli verranno affidati e in condivisione per quelli comuni.
  Specifico che parlo solo italiano, per il quale sono disponibile a offrire un supporto di apprendimento, e conosco il francese scolastico, studiato però tanti anni fa.

  Staying here will give you the opportunity to experience Sardinian life, immersing yourself in the local culture and sharing authentic moments of local traditions. You will be able to participate in various practical activities and get to know better the traditions, cuisine, and lifestyle of the area. The exchange will be continuous due to the cohabitation, but with reserved spaces. I am very active in theater, singing, visiting local artistic and historical sites, and I follow Sardinian language courses.

  It is a large country house located in a town of 20,000 inhabitants, Sestu. The house consists of a large kitchen overlooking the garden, a dining room, a living room, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house is located about 1 km from the town, and 20 minutes by car from Cagliari.
  
  I will purchase and/or provide food for meals, which can be prepared by both of us, even shared. I will be happy to both learn normal and traditional recipes from the guests and teach the Sardinian ones.

  Sardinia is an island known for its fantastic sea, its millenary culture, its uncontaminated landscapes, it is still an authentic population! The best way to discover Sardinia is to live it!!
