Description
This is a vibrant ecovillage and a rural third place ("tiers lieu") located in the Belgian countryside, in Ottignies (30mn south of Brussels), in a gorgeously renovated 18th century farm.
We are surrounded by 5ha of beautiful land under regeneration and permaculture practices.
This is a whole ecosystem composed of different structures & actors:
• A foundation that owns the land and the buildings;
• A non-profit organisation that oversees the collective project & facilitates the collaboration between the different actors;
• 10 small social entrepreneurs based in the farm buildings and surrounding land: a bakery, a bicycle repair shop, a restaurant, a herbalist, an organic market gardener, a plant and tree nursery, and much more;
• A small Montessori school;
• A campus (under development, inspired by the folk high school model);
• A coworking space where several NGOs are based;
• A large barn where conferences and events are held;
• 20 inhabitants who live onsite and are involved in various working groups.
All these actors are experimenting with ways of living and working that care for the Earth and the people. This place embodies a different model and narrative for our societies and actively weaves connections to inspire others.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
This is definitely is one of the best places to be in Belgium if you are interested in "tiers lieux", eco-villages, intentional communities. You'll be immersed in a whole ecosystem that mixes a lot of different and super exciting projects! So you'll mostly learn how such "tiers lieux" are created & run, be inspired by which solutions we can implement for a regenerative future (on the environmental, social, economic levels), and connect with a bunch of kind & interesting humans, and get a taste of community life if you haven't yet ;-)
Help
There are many, many things going on around this place! :-)
What we always need help with is cooking for the community, cleaning communal spaces, gardening, light building maintenance.
The tasks themselves might not be the most "high learning" ones but you'll definitely learn a lot from just being immersed in this vibrant place! :-)
You won't be involved in our commercial activities with paying guests.Languages spoken

You'll be staying in a glamping tent. You'll have access to hot outdoor showers & a compost toilet, as well as to our beautiful common kitchen & living room, where you can cook, hang out and get to meet other people.
Food: we provide you with organic produce, the basics: grains, lentils etc., bread, eggs, fresh veggies, muesli, tea, coffee. We don't offer meat nor fish but you're welcome to buy it & cook it yourself (we ask you to choose ethical products in this case).What else ...
You'll have 2 days off per week. There are lots of activities to do in the area, as many events take place in the surrounding villages, and there are also some beautiful walking paths. You can go around by bicycle (we have some to borrow) or easily by bus. We're also a 30mn train ride away from Brussels so you can go enjoy all that the capital of Europe has to offer. And in our community we also often have activities, especially in the summer!
