My family and I always go out on weekends, either in nature or to community activities. You are very welcome to join us. We go on roadtrips as well in our beautiful Vancouver Island.
I can share a lot about being Canadian and also about being an immigrant. I love exchanging stories and learning about different cultures!Projects involving children

Help
We would love to host and have cultural exchanges if you would help us with light chores around the house! Cleaning the kitchen and dining area, loading and unloading the dishwasher, mopping up spills, tidying toys, folding clothes, meal prep for our dinners together and preparing a school lunch box in the morning. Occasional childcare only while we are also in the house. For example, I can take out the garbage while you are minding the kids. Has to be female since I have two daughters. Not required but would be great if you can mow the lawn. I am very talkative and would be a great help if you would like to practice speaking in English.

I am happy to teach English or Tagalog, and would also like to learn more French, Spanish and Japanese with native speakers.Accommodation
We have 2 bedrooms in our basement suite. It has its own bathroom, full kitchen and washer/dryer, as well as a couch, dining table and TV.
Breakfast is usually cereals/granola/fruits and tea/coffee. Lunch is a sandwich unless you like to cook (we won’t be home). You will have to cook dinner, otherwise I will buy something that’s pre-prepared like marinated meat or lasagna that can be put in the oven. I don’t have time to really cook so I would appreciate it if you can cook. I can also buy a meal kit and you can follow the instructions. I used to do this when I only had my firstborn, but with a new baby, it’s impossible. What else ...
I’d love it if you can stay for many months with us and be a part of our family. Like a roommate but you will have your own privacy in the basement suite. We have a bus stop in our neighbourhood a few minutes walk down the road. There is also a small strip mall opening soon within walking distance! The galloping goose trail is nearby too. Ideally we would let each other know what times we are expecting to be interacting together and we will also give you your privacy in the suite. We are very warm and open, but also chaotic since we have 2 young kids.

Can host families
Can host digital nomads
Digital nomads are very welcome as you can work in the basement suite, which is basically a self-contained apartment here in Canada. You can definitely work during the workday because we only need help in the morning (for school lunch prep and morning rush) and evenings for dinner. Up to you when you would like to fold the clothes and tidy up.
