Description
We are a French couple and a cat living in the heart of French countryside, in the north of the Sarthe, 5 km from Mamers, 45 km from Le Mans. .We are retired , so we will be happy to have someone to accompagny us in our various activities . We love the garden , tinkering , walking . I practice yoga , also love to sew , cook .
We are self sufficient for most of our food as we do have a lovely garden with chickens, ducks , pigeons . Having travelled in different parts of the world (Australia, , Tanzania, Equator,.. ), we love to share with others and it will be a pleasure to make you discover french rural lifestyle.

You will experience typical French rural life. You will learn how to grow vegetables, fruits and raise poultry. It's also a perfect opportunity to improve your French and learn more about French culture.

Generally, your help will be greatly appreciated to help us maintain our home and garden. So, the tasks can vary a lot depending on the season. . For example, weeding the garden, picking vegetables and fruit, sterilizing and preserving garden vegetables and fruits, mowing the lawn, trimming flowering hedges, and fruit trees, improve the home.You will always be accompanied, it is together that we will do things

I stayed with Claudine and Jill for 2 weeks and i am really glad i got to spend time with them! They are very open, interested and welcoming and i felt like they wanted to make shure i felt alright. Even though my french is not that good yet, we talked a lot and they were so nice to talk a little bit slower and explained me many… read more words or tried do describe something if i didn’t understand it. So if you want to improve your french Claudine and Jill will be perfect for that (as they just speak french – although Jill wants to improve his english ;)) The multicourse meals, Claudine prepared every noon and evening were delicious! And almost everything was fresh from the garden!
Normally i did everything together with Claudine, either the work or the „leisure activities“. We did a lot in the garden for example: Harvesting Apples and Pumpkins, weeding, pruning plants, mowing the lawn... If it was raining, ironing laundry, cracking nuts, hooving . The other day we completely cleaned the car for example.
There is no „timetable“, or no specific work-hours; it’s more like taking part in their Life and helping with the work, which hast to be done. Apart from the work we did some trips to different cities, or some wonderful hikes in the nature. Claudine took me with to her yoga-class, which was really nice and showed me also different secondhand-shops. All in all i am really thankfull that i was able to spend time with you, that you received me so warmly and that you were so patient with me and my french! I hope we will see us in spring when i am in Paris! I wish you all the best and Jill wonderfull last months in his company before his retirement!

J’étais avec Claudine et Jill pour 2 semaine et je suis vraiment heureuse que j’ai passé de temps avec eux. Ils sont très ouvertes et interessés et J'ai eu le sentiment qu'ils se souciaient de me mettre à l'aise. Malgré mon français n’est pas encore si bon, nous avons beaucoup discuté et pour moi ils ont parlé un peu lentement et m’expliqué pleine des mots. Donc si tu veux améliores ton français, Claudine et Jill sont des personnes parfaits pour toi! (Ils parlent seulement français – alors que Jill essaye de progresser aussi en anglais ;)) Les repas à plusieurs plats, que claudine prépare chaque midi et soir étaient delixieux! Et presque tout était frais du jardin!
Habituellement j’ai fait tout ensemble avec Claudine, tant le travail que les „activités de loisir“. Nous avons fait beaucoup dans le jardin, par example: cueillir des pommes et des potirons, désherber, tailler des plants, tondre la pelouse ... S’il y a étais du l’eau, repasser la lessive, craquer des noisettes ou passer l’aspirateur. Un autre jour, nous avons par example nettoyé complètement la voiture. Il n’y a pas des heures de travail définis; on partcicipe plutôt à leur vie et on aide à faire le travail qui doit être fait. À l’écart du travail nous avons fait quelques excursions dans différentes villes ou des randonnées merveilleuses dans la nature. Claudine m’a emmené à son cours de yoga, ce qui était très sympa et m’a montré différents magasins d’occasion.
Globalement je suis très reconnaissante d’avoir passé du temps avec vous, que vous avez m’accueilli si chaleureusement et que vous était si patients avec moi et mon français! J’espère que nous nous revoyons quand je suis à Paris! Je vous souhaite tous les meilleures et Jill des dernières mois formidables au travail avant sa retraite! À bientôt!
