  • Description

    Hi there! :)🌟🌼
My name is Antonia, I’m from Germany, and this summer I finished my A-levels. Currently, I’m doing an internship at an association for refugee aid. I’m completely new to the Workaway platform, but I’m really excited to gain experiences, meet new people, and visit places I’ve never been before. That’s why I signed up for Workaway!

With the upcoming end of 2024, my internship will be coming to an end, and I have a few weeks off before I start my Voluntary Social Year. During this time, I would love to visit another country and spend some time away from my hometown to gain fresh perspectives and broaden my horizons.

I’m eager to help with anything, really! I enjoy trying new things and supporting various projects. Right after finishing school, I worked full-time at a professional horse breeding farm for three months to earn some money. Safe to say, it was a physically demanding job, but I found it fun and surprisingly fulfilling! I genuinely love animals and am not afraid to get my hands dirty when it comes to hard work.

Aside from that, I enjoy creative activities—sometimes I paint or write little poems. You could say I’m a bit of a bookworm! I also love spending time with children. At my current workplace, I occasionally take care of refugee kids, which is both heartwarming and fun.

Another passion of mine is cooking. I cook for myself daily and sometimes for my aunt and grandma as well. I love fresh food and often include lots of vegetables in my meals, as I follow a vegan diet. But no worries—I’m far from a picky eater and will happily eat the side dishes if necessary!

I’m so excited to meet you! :)

  • More details about your skills

In school, language classes were always my favourite. Besides German, I speak good English and also French, altough I have to admit that my French got a bit rusty over time. So I‘m looking forward to get back on track!

I am passionate about contributing to my community and enjoy engaging in social projects. In my current internship, I sometimes take care of refugee children, which I find both meaningful and fun. I also enjoy spending time with my little cousin, which has given me even more experience in working with kids.

Cooking is one of my biggest hoobies. I focus on fresh, healthy meals with lots of vegetables, as I personally follow a vegan diet.

Also I would consider myself a creative person. I enjoy painting, drawing, crafting, and writing poems.

I’m always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. After finishing school, I worked full-time for three months on a professional horse breeding farm, which was physically demanding but also very rewarding. Before that, I spent seven years doing leisure riding, although I’ve taken a long break since then. My time at the breeding farm kind of brought back my passion for working with these wonderful animals. I’m comfortable handling horses and animals in general and am happy to help with any related tasks.
