  • Description

Hi! To whoever is reading this, let me use this space to introduce myself.

I'm fairly new to the traveling and volunteering lifestyle, having only started this year (in April).
The experience has been very lovely and I'm looking to do more, possibly make this a permanent lifestyle.
At this exact moment I'm moving towards Belgium and taking ~1 week jobs on the way.
Once that is over with I'm open for longer jobs, possibly several months.
I'm open to most kinds of work, including those I have no experience with.

I'm a digital nomad who, out of work hours, spends all her time working on programming and writing projects.
I have years of experience in system administration, programming and general computing wizardry.
This makes me a full nerd, but it also means I somewhat pigeonholed myself into this modern, corporate world.
This is my main motivation for wanting to explore the other side of living, ideally with people who are firmly rooted in that life.

My strongest skills, besides my expertise, are a motivation to learn and work hard, a very open mind, and a desire to always do a bit better.
Soft skills (basically, communication skills) are also quite strong, partially due to a very relaxed attitude, and also because of years of working with customers.
Beyond that I'm an intensely imaginative person, whose brain is always working on new ideas. It makes me a bit of a dreamer, too - ready to do good for the world.

Some other things that may be interesting about me (or, in other words, know what you're getting yourself into...):

    * Very big on privacy, maybe a little paranoid. I consider it an advantage when designing/planning anything.
    * Transgender - depending on your definition. Born as male, but now I want to be one of the girls.
    * A unique sense of humor. I can be dark, I can be crude, but somehow I always manage to be very respectful.

My ideal place to be? Honestly I'm just looking to make a change and be happy with what I do.
My only real requirement is the ability to have a corner to myself where I can go online and work without prying eyes.
I'd like at least *some* of the work I do to leverage my skills and apply them to something I believe in, while also learning new things.
But mostly, I just need to be with good people: those that are driven to make something great, and who aren't afraid to challenge assumptions.

Either way, let's have a chat and see how we can help each other! :)

  • More details about your skills

My core technical skills lie in the IT sphere - I can do software (desktop, backend, frontend, etc), system administration, crypto, and so on. I'm also excellent at communication and handling conflict. Plus, several years of working in helpdesk means my "soft skills" are unmatched. I believe that I'm intelligent enough to learn anything new, so I'm looking forward to working with others on work that I haven't had opportunity to experience yet. :)
