A as in ‘About myself’:
Hi, my name is Aylin, and I am a 24-year-old woman from northern Germany. In November 2024, I graduated from university with a degree in Communication Science and Art History. Since the pandemic took away quite a few opportunities to travel in the years I initially had the time and money to, I would like to make 2025 the year to try new things and get back to my (old) passions. That is why I am looking for some great opportunities on this platform. :)
Y as in ‘Why me?’:
I would describe people from the north of Germany as hardworking, realistic, and hardly ever complaining. While I can be outgoing and would love to have a beautiful yet exciting time in different countries to make new friends and take time for things I am passionate about, I would also attribute the character traits described above to myself as a 'northern light.' So, as much as I am excited about traveling, I respect and take into account the help hosts are looking for on this platform and that I am supposed to work for the scheduled amount of time—or even more, if needed.
L as in ‘Languages’:
German is my native language, and I was good at speaking English at school. I would love to refresh my English skills, which is my main goal for languages. But besides that, I know the basics of Turkish, which I can pick up quite easily because I am half German, half Turkish, but never completely learned the language. As I have forgotten almost everything from the Spanish classes I took for two semesters at university, it would be nice to come back to learning this beautiful language with a little help. Other languages would be interesting too, but these would only be nice opportunities, not my main focus.
I as in ‘Interests’:
As a creative person, I feel passionate about projects in almost all kinds of ways. I love crafts and would like to learn more about it. I was into photography for a while and enjoy writing, drawing, and crocheting. At the moment, making my own jewelry and tattooing are what take up most of my creativity and bring me that kind of happy interest I can get lost in. If I have the time, skating is my most enjoyed way to move. Also, I care for my over 20 plants, and my heart immediately opens up for animals (especially dogs!).
N as in ‘Nothing more to add?’:
Of course, I want to describe myself in the most realistic way, as we don’t meet in person before spending quite some time together, and it is important to me to get along. You can often chat with me, as I can be a talkative person and like to try out new things. But nothing is only black and white, so I might have my days or moments when I can shut down a little or lack motivation (which doesn’t mean I don’t keep going). I don’t have any experience with Workaway yet, so maybe I might recognize new traits about myself too. I am not much of an adrenaline junkie and like to be mindful or even careful about tasks. But I am also looking to expand my 'just do it' mentality a bit more, which is why I also enjoy simple tasks like cooking, gardening, and so on.Interests

More details about your skills
To get down to the experiences I share, I’d like to start with the administrative work and communication skills I am able to provide due to past jobs and my Bachelor’s degree.
I know the basics of craftwork that I continue to learn from my dad. I can work with wood, handle a screwdriver, and know how to install lamps or shelves on the wall. My mum taught me at least a few basics about gardening. Also, I learned to cut and dye hair in an acceptable way, which is how I involuntarily got established as the hairdresser for my friends :D (for women and men). The food I cook is enjoyable, and I clean very thoroughly. I can sew new simple clothes and fix old ones. Also, I have a driver’s license and almost 8 years of experience.
I love dogs, live with one at the moment, and have even been a dog sitter in the past, which is why I can handle them well. When I was younger, I used to ride and worked at a stable for a short amount of time, though my knowledge needs to be refreshed. It is always a beautiful experience to work and bond with animals in general, and I always let them approach me first. Same with children, so I never had a problem with making new small friends :).
As you can see, I am really flexible in skills, although I simply know the basics and a bit more. Nothing really professional, but I am capable of focusing on new tasks and learning them even by myself, as I am a practical person and tend to hyperfocus on things that interest me. If you show me something, I adapt really fast.Age
